As I have said before I think the stability of an extended contract is a good thing for both but especially for the driver.

Yes the increased stability will improve both team and drivers ability to produce competative cars and race drives which will come from a good level of understanding with in the team.

p.s can a mod change the title of the topic please, I seem to have made a mistake when starting it, I was going to do one regarding the super license but as you can see change my mind :oops:

you can only give an extended contract to someone whos in it for the racing, like schumacher (not ralf!) and i do think that is hamilton, unfortunately

If lewis aint in it for the racing then he will loose the hunger to win and that could be bad

Its a good thing for Lewis and the team will help build strength with the relationships between engineer and driver feedback,
Hopefully Heikki can be there for a long time aswell

Stability can only be good for both the team and driver. I think Hamilton owes something to McLaren as well and should stay, although he's certainly getting a few well-greased notes to do so. McLaren are Formula One legends and a team of that stature should be looking to win virtually every race and championship. Hamilton is at the right team to provide him with personal glory and he seems to have the skills to further McLaren. It sounds a solid symbiotic relationship.
