So after reading that Rubens would still drive for Ferrari if they asked him, I was wondering... Has Massa actually failed to the point that people think Rubens would be an upgrade?

Barrichello in my opinion. I didn't start watching f1 til 2010 so massa has been extremely lackluster since I've been watching him. And barrichello has been in a williams

But barrichello has been runner up a couple times and I think I've heard that massa's championship contention in 2008 was kind of a one-off. Correct me if I'm wrong!

I rather have Narain Karthikeyan rather than Massa just for the kick of it. You never know, he might do better and if he does do better Ferrari would look like geniuses.

Indeed.

Realistically, Barrichello is past it. There's a reason he doesn't have a drive afterall. I know Massa has been poor last season and this season so far, but he's better than Barrichello.

And for perspective, Rubens finished last season in 17th. In a shitty williams.

No - the reason he doesn't have a drive is that he couldn't show anything in the worst Williams in 30 years and doesn't bring with him massive sponsorship. Barrichello IS (and I do mean that in the present tense) a better driver than Massa. If you could say Massa pre-accident then my answer might have been different as I genuinely rated him after '08 and into '09, but he simply hasn't been the same since then and Rubens is currently the better between the two, and by some margin too.

Favourite racing series: F1, Indycar, NASCAR, GP2, F3, Formula E, Trophee Andros, DTM, WTCC, BTCC, World Endurance... etc. etc.

By all means keep Massa, so Kimi can avenge the screwing-over Ferrari gave him in 2009 season. Would be nice to see Lotus-Renault finish ahead of Ferrari in WCC points. :twisted:

Old Ruby was still a winner the last time he had a capable car, and was the better of the Williams drivers in terms of points in his final two seasons. He may not be the fastest guy on the grid, but he's solid and dependable, and brings home the points if the car is capable. Even this seems to be beyond the capabilities of Felipe Massa now.
