I am seriously pissed off about sauber. Perez should have pulled an alonzo and told his team to shut the f*** up and let him race,

Maybe he did, and ran the car off the road because of it.

We have no idea what happened there.

It's a shame he made that mistake because he was clearly faster than the Ferrari! :irked:

It would've been interesting to see whether the Scuderia would've sent stern messages to Peter Sauber, while under pressure! :hehe:

But was the Ferrari engined team told to hold back from their engine supplier? That's the latest conspiracy theory. Some people are thinking too much of Petrov being told that they need the position or in other words don't risk trashing the car.

Rubbish apparently.

Peter Sauber has categorically rubbished wild conspiracy theories suggesting that his team sent Sergio Perez a coded radio message not to attack Ferrari's Fernando Alonso in the closing stages of the Malaysian Grand Prix.

In the final two stints at Sepang Mexican star Perez set off on a relentless pursuit of the Ferrari as the track dried, wiping out what had been a six-second lead to nothing with seven laps to go only to run wide over a wet kerb as he prepared to enter the backstraight, meaning he had to settle for second.

However, the broadcasting on the world feed of a radio message from his race engineer just before the error that cost him the win promptly led to some accusations of there being a collusion between Sauber and Ferrari, their long-time engine suppliers and close allies.

Perez's race engineer was heard telling his driver "be careful, we need this position" but speaking afterwards Team Principal Sauber insisted the pit wall had simply been reminding the 22-year-old to be careful in the conditions and not throw away a strong result.

"He meant that we needed the result. It's a misunderstanding. It was because that behind us, all the midfield teams, our main competitors, scored points," Sauber was quoted as saying by the Guardian.

"So it was important we kept the result."

And when pressed on whether the team had wanted him to stay behind Alonso, Sauber insisted: "No. We told him 'be careful we need the result", while adding their had been no discussions between his team and Ferrari.

Perez is a member of the Maranello marque's young driver academy and has been strongly linked as a replacement for Felipe Massa alongside Alonso in recent months, speculation that has gone into overdrive since Sunday's race.

Both the Mexican and Ferrari have, however, insisted no switch to replace the struggling Massa is afoot.

I think you mean Perez there.

Anyway, I agree. Any slight whiff of weirdness in the vicinity of Ferrari is automatically met with at least three different conspiracy theories.

I wonder if it was a Torro Rosso car (another Ferrari-powered team) if we'd be having the same discussion...

Yep, I meant Perez.

I don't buy this conspiracy theory rubbish. 2nd place was a fantastic result for Sauber and their first podium for a while so it's reasonable to expect them to settle for 2nd and not chance ending up with nothing, especially with track conditions like they were.

If Perez wanted second he would've cruised for second, not had a risky off like we saw, I doubt he did that just for the sake of covering up team orders.

It's not like Ferrari hand over their engines to Sauber for free either and have a monopoly on engines in f1, or supply on a race by race basis without a contract.

I suppose in Canada last year, Vettel slipped on the last lap to let Button through?

The team normally think quite logically, it's why team orders are prevalent in f1, so Sauber asking him to be careful isn't that surprising. It's the same reason McLaren tell Lewis to conserve his tyres.

Due to his puncture...but overall Webber is a lost closer to Vettel this season. I do hope he can keep this up and give some intra team pressure to Vettel who had a real holiday in 2011.

WEBBER BEAT VETTEL!!!!!!

That is all.

:hehe:

It's in Webbers contract that Vettel has to let him finish ahead once a year. :hehe:

Which works out to "guarantee of finishing ahead of teammate in every other race" in Vettel's contract. :hehe:
