I'm a little late to the party on this one, but HRT and Karthikeyan were not at fault in either collision...

So why has Karthikeyan admitted that it was his mistake whith Vettel?

When did he say that? Wasn't he annoyed that Vettel cut in front of him in the BBC interview?

Karthikeyen has said there was nothing he could do about it! He either stayed where he was and lost control or righted himself back on the track!

If there was anything else by way of an admission, it was probably because Helmut Marko was staring daggers at him over the shoulder of the interviewer. :hehe:

I'm a little late to the party on this one, but HRT and Karthikeyan were not at fault in either collision, JB messed up his braking and clattered into Karthikeyan and Vettel chopped across the front of the HRT before being sufficiently ahead, just like he did in Turkey 2010 with his team mate. Slower cars have always been part and parcel of F1, the drivers in the top cars should be able to deal with it, Jenson acknowledged that, he made the mistake, didn't account for track conditions and misjudged his approach to the corner suffering the consequences.

I'm afraid you might need to look through a few more threads, the facts don't support what you are saying in regards to Vettel's accident.

You can't expect top drivers to deal with lapped cars that don't know where their front wings are and slashing the leaders' tyres.

He said that he got on the white line, got a bit of wheel spin so moved right to get more grip and found Vettel trying to pass.

"Then there was the incident with Vettel. I was letting everyone through on blue flags because I was being told on the radio. I got on the white line, which was still damp, and I was on slicks obviously so I had a lot of wheelspin. I then had to come back on the track from the kerb, and he was there unfortunately and I could not do anything."

So where's the admission of guilt? From what I read there, he says Vettel passed him and didn't let him back on track where the racing line is. Vettel had a highway on his right hand side to use, but tried bullying the HRT into submission...and received his just rewards. :D

It was Kar's fault only because it was Vettel doing the overtaking

Try reading what he said. He was being lapped by someone much faster. He should have put up with a bit of wheel-spin.

typical...

you didn't view the replay, no? you seriously think its not NK's failure in judgement?

It's all about perspective guys. And from your perspective, I'm sure it looks like it to you. Both Vettel and Button made rookie pass attempts, one acknowledges the mistake, the other blames everyone but himself. The difference? One's got a fast car that can win races and knows it. Not being comfortably in the lead makes people do drastic things out of desperation, and Vettel looked mighty desperate yesterday. I expect his aggressiveness and behavior to continue to increase with every race out of the podium and every race falling further behind in points.

Actually no driver knows exactly where his front wing is as they can't see it from the cockpit. I'm not listening to what others are saying, my view comes from seeing the replays, Vettel definitely moved across the nose of Karthikeyan before he was fully past the HRT, you could even argue (as Karthikeyan mentioned) that Vettel was trying to force him off the track!

In his defense he did more than what I expected of him in Melbourne though. It was a good fightback to 2nd. But I think to see Vettel and his spoilt team in their best behaviour, they need a car which has a 0.5 second advantage in qualifying over everyone else to remain happy. Otherwise, self implosion is likely to happen. :hehe:

At first I thought this was clearly a Vettel mistake. Now having watched the re-runs, especially of their coming together, I would have to admit, that actually Karthikeyan could take a big portion of the blame for the collision. If I was being kind, I might say its just a racing incident.

However, I cant let Vettel off totally with out saying two things:

1) These things happen - Just act with a bit more decorum, and not such a spoilt brat after the race.

2) If your tyre is disintegrating in such a style, please get off the racing line - driving down the center of the track, and disgarding disintegrated tyres all over the place - which caused both Alonso and Perez to take evasive maneuvers on the following laps, and could of ruined their race.
