Button and Vettel were just asleep. Not HRT's fault.
The HRTs were very coorporative in allowing people to pass today.

So is this the official HRT hate thread?

I swear the Horribly Rubbish Team already had their own, dedicated thread about how "bad" they are.

its more than a hate thread, its sort of a petition to tell them to return to the lower formulae, because apparently they are not F1 level. i am afraid to say, some GP2 cars might be faster than the HRT's.

HRT definitely making F1 look bad. 3 years in to F1 and still having performances like this? I hope they are not looking at the Caterham team as their role model..

to be frank, the lowest three teams need to rethink their position in F1, HRT's are just pathetic.

In my opinion.

You're welcome to your opinion but I don't agree with it.

While HRT have really slow cars, they did not impede other drivers today.

Jenson admitted losing his front wing was his own fault and Vettel also made a mistake.

They're a team that is "just there". They make little impact on the race but if the drivers have fun doing it...

Well if being in the F1 grid to be "just there" is the target for HRT, then they truly don't have the right motivation to be in F1.

Pedro de la Rosa said yesterday that their target this year is to beat Marussia. At the moment HRT are accomplishing this because Marussia are last in the Constructors Title standings.

And that is the spirit of a Formula 1 team? The pinnacle of motorsport? Comparing to teams that are less representative of modern level of F1?

What do you prefer? Spec racing? Formula 1 has always been like this. There are rich teams and there are teams w/ a very limited budget.....It's like having a race within a race....

My guess would be they don't want to set unrealistic targets.

Stupid thread, they did nothing wrong the whole race. Button panicked about Hamilton being right behind and busted his wing trying to pass, Vettel did what Hamilton did to Kobayashi in Spa last year and everyone said its Hamiltons fault, thus Vettel's in the wrong here as well.

I have to agree that this is a stupid thread. The FIA deliberately made it possible to allow new teams to enter - and it's not surprising that some of them are slower than the front running teams. Then we get people saying that the HRT cars are not even as fast as the GP2 cars. The HRT cars are four or five seconds faster than the GP2 cars, but we get claims that HRT aren't as fast as GP2. People should think before they post.

Worst thread ever. HRT have just as much right to be in F1 as Ferrari/McLaren/Red Bull. Don't be such a f***ing supremist. Did you ever think they might be in F1 because they enjoy it? Because they have fun getting their on the grid? Because they take pride in building an F1 car and seeing it on the track? Piss off mate.

HRT 4 LYFE.

Pointless hate thread alert!

As others have pointed out, the incidents that HRT were involved in were not their fault, they were entirely the fault of the drivers overtaking them (Button and Vettel).

In fact, I'd say the complete opposite - in spite of having their usual joke of a pre-season (i.e. non-existent), the car not being that far away on pace from the Marussia's and Caterham's is actually quite impressive. They'll have learned a lot from doing the race distance now and if they can analyse the data they've collected to help with set-up for China (with Pedro's experience they should have very good direction), they could make a substantial leap forward in the next few weeks!
