:D It doesn't surprise me, in fact, I think it's funny after his surly attitude. If he does go in for DTM, I don't think he'll be a hot shot there for a while because you have totally change your driving style. Hakkinen, in his first DTM season, was very average. Eventually, he adapted to the car and put in some decent performances. He was looking really good right up until he packed it in.

Former F1 driver Ralf Schumacher made his DTM debut on Sunday. The German driver finished 14th in his year-old Mercedes at Hockenheim.

Wow like that is a surprise or breaking new's he would be in DTM  !

I'm just watching DTM now on Motors TV UK, and Ralf is down in 15th, behind not only Gary Paffett, but also Christijan Albers.

Same story with today's race. Although, to be fair, Paffett is a DTM driver gone F1 test driver, not the other way around. Also, took me a while to notice, buy Markus Winkelhock is in DTM. I was wondering where he had got to and I do wish that he'd get another race in an F1 car so we can see what he's made of. His performance last year was excellent but that was because he was on the right tyres and nobody else was.

I was watching some highlights from Norisring the other day on Sky Sports and look where Ralf was again... behind Paffett AND Albers. It's funny how Ralf claimed he was the 3rd best driver in F1 last year but can't even beat a McLaren test driver AND someone who drives off with fuel hoses still attached to his car.

I bet Winkelhock's got the telemetry from his moment of fame framed on his bedroom wall. :P

He did a little bit. His driving style was not really suited to the cars. After the first season, he did manage to get things together. I reckon he quit too early, for his third (and last) season was his most competitive. Ralf Schumacher seems to be having more problems than Hakkinen, however. :hehe:
