Hi,

I am a professional gambler who bets on many sports including formula 1. I am looking for someone who can assist me in my formula 1 betting by providing information before each grand prix of the 2008 season. In return for this information I will pay £100 per race.

In practical terms I’d talk to you over the phone, probably with three separate calls over the race weekend; one before the Friday practice sessions, one after the Friday practice sessions and one after qualifying. These calls should only last a few minutes as I will only be after concise information on a few issues. The sort of topics I might ask about include:

Weather conditions at the track
Your views and predictions for the weekend
Your views on how people performed in practice/qualifying
Your predictions regarding strategy for the race (fuel load estimations, pit stop strategy etc)

In addition to this I would need you to alert me as soon as any very significant news comes in – e.g. someone has received a 10 place grid penalty (perhaps by phone or text). This is very important to me as I am hoping to receive news of such events earlier than is possible through conventional means (e.g. bbc/sportinglife website)

Ideally I am looking for someone who will be on location wherever the grand prix is being held, for example travelling with of one of the teams, as a journalist etc. However if you have good contacts on location and think you could provide me with the information it may not matter where you are based.

I will pay you £100 per race and will also cover any phone charges that you may occur calling me or texting me. I can pay this money by bank transfer, paypal, cheque etc, whichever method is easiest for you. This money will of course be paid regardless of how I get on with any of my bets

The plan is that the first race of the season will be a fully paid trial and we can continue the arrangement if both of us are satisfied.

I’ll try and answer any questions I can on this forum, however if you are interested please email me at [email protected] and tell me a bit about yourself and your connection to formula 1.

Kind Regards,

Matt

Incase you forgot to read all of the replies our admin does not have an issue with this, if you do that's cool, so just overlook this thread.

Whilst I personally don't care about the thread, I'm surprised it wasn't locked, moved or deleted. If anybody else is considering this, be careful. There are plenty of scams on the internet of which to be wary.

It was locked by me until I heard of the admin's approval, now it is up to them to decide. As Forrest Gump said "That's all I got to say about that" and I will keep my personal opinion's to myself !

To be honest i'd prefer to deal with one person, i think things will be a lot more efficient that way, however if he/she uses other contacts that'd be great

To everyone who is worried that this is some sort of scam, i just want to clarify a couple of points:

It will only be me risking any money. I won't ever ask you to send me any money. I'll pay you the £100 regardless of what happens in the race. This is an amount which i feel is fair. Hopefully it'll be enough so that a few real f1 experts will be interested and it'll be worth their while, but not too much for me to spend.

As regards to payment as i said before i am willing to pay this in a manner which you feel is safest. If you're worried about giving away personal details i'd suggest paypal would be an effective way for me to transfer the money, but this will be your choice

If you have any specific queries or concerns i'll try and answer them. However if you're certain this is a scam and couldn't be convinced otherwise then its probably best to just overlook this thread.

the information you want matt is easily available for free on most f1 websites. I am an occasional gambler and I did win a few bob predicting that kimi would be champion and all i did to do that was keep an eye on http://www.formula1.com during qualifying to make predictions based on the quali times. That and a gut feeling that it was kimi' year :D

8-ball,

last season i took a similar approach in so much as i used mainstream websites such as http://www.formula1.com and had an occasional look at f1 forums and i made a small profit. however there are many occasions when better/quicker information could have led to much greater profit.
for example being able to act on information regarding stewards' decisions (prerace) before the market is aware of such information could be extremely profitable.

al4x,

for most people formula1.com is the quickest way to get this information. however there are obviously some people (the journalists at formula1.com for example) who would be able to pass on such information before it appears on mainstream websites. even if the time gap between them knowing and the general public knowing is a matter of minutes then that is enough time for me to act on this information. thats why i'm hoping by offering this money that i can attract some people who'd be in a position to help me.
