He's yielded a couple of times now to Jenson, and this is working against Lewis. I remember 2010 when Jenson tried to make moves on the track, Lewis has shut the door firmly in his face showing he's not to be messed with. In Melbourne Jenson was given a clear path ahead at the start, due to Lewis being a bit soft and thinking of 'finishing'.

Just saying he should revert back to his aggressive style from Malaysia onwards, teammate or not.

Lewis lost too much ground to cut Jenson off, Jenson was already level or slightly ahead well before the braking zone, at that point Lewis was probably more worried about keeping P2 than trying to get P1 back.

Agree completely! He's trying to be something he isnt, trying to drive in a way that isnt instinctive, thinking too much, trying to please everybody...and it doesnt work. He has yielded to Jenson a few times, he even put hinself in the wall to avoid taking him off. And Ive heard several 'experts' say he left too much room at the start of that race (Jenson made an error as well). No more 'Mr. Nice Guy'. You've got to think a bit more about yourself Lewis, because you can bet your bottom dollar Jenson is.

Regarding the newspaper article, I know thats what it is, just a newspaper article, albeit one of the more respectable ones. My point was, reading it wont do Lewis a lot of good right now.

I think it is ok that he wasn't too aggressive, even if it's against his normal style. I think letting the world know that mclaren are packing some heat this year in the first race was "politically" better, I guess you could say, rather than lewis making an aggressive move with a chance to wreck them both. There is a time to be really aggressive, and I'm sure lewis will show that later in the year, but I think lewis wanted to make sure he got his car home in the points for the team's sake just because of the issues he had last year and that he showed everybody that he is still competent and that mclaren is not taking any bull this year (pun sort of intended  ).

Im not a McLaren fan (though my best drivers for some time have driven for McLaren) Im an unashamed Lewis fan. He just blows me away. Please real Lewis come back and blow me away aaaaall over agen!! :D:P:thumbup:

RC! :yikes: you're such a filthy, filthy girl. :hehe:

There are 19 races to go, and there's no need to call for a change of style at this point. It was his style that some say lost him a WDC in 2010, while some say it got him as far as it did. Lewis needs to be Lewis, but it's myopic to say that he can't be both aggressive and smart, I reject the fact that it's either one or the other.

He's got his shot this year, which is something that McLaren didn't last year. Let's see what he does with it. I think it's going to be a very exciting 2012 F1 season.

Personally I hope this lovey dovey McLaren partnership breaks down this season, as it's not working for Lewis at all. It's easy to see it's all an act, they might as well throw the towel in and quit giving fake smiles and pats on the back after races. We saw how Lewis owned Alonso after the sh*t hit the fan, he's not used to this fake stuff much and it might be affecting his on track performance as well.

No, he needs someone who's not a 'pal' or pretending to be one, as a teammate. No.1 status for both will do just fine, see 2007.

While I miss Lewis' more aggressive driving style, he definietly did the right thing in Oz.

By the time Lewis could've done anything about Jenson off the start, he was already side-by-side with him. He could've forced Jenson off the track, which would've resulted in a penalty. Or he could've taken both him and Jenson out, which would've resulted in both drivers getting nil pwah.

McLaren getting 1st and 3rd is better than them getting two DNFs. The result in Oz was very good for the team and they needed a result like that to kick off the season well.

So long as the favour is returned thats fine. So far its one nil to Jenson for turfing off your team-mate.
