Red Bull could be in "problems" for a race or two, but then, if we are to believe what Vettel said in his last interview, and we better believe, they are coming with something special. He called it "Masterplan". Button also said that in Malaysia Red Bull, especially Vettel, will be very fast and dangerous.

You sound a little desperate for this to be true, you know it is possible that Redbull just won't be the strongest this year.

Fingers crossed

Come on, you really think that they will be only this strong? You really underestimate the champions.

That was last year. All teams will develop their cars and gain speed throughout the season, it's not just limited to Red Bull. Ferrari are likely the ones with the most "potential" gain.

How often have we talked about Newey?

They aren't flying parts out in less than a week. Fly away races are difficult for this reason. I'd be pretty sure that every team would be using the same car as in Australia, no doubting that.

And if you look at last year McLaren clawed back at Redbull every race, their development through out the season is stronger as seen year after year. The fact they are starting off this year strong should worry Redbull, it seems to have as seen from not only their fans with big talk but also their team boss.

McLaren were not showing their full hand in Melbourne either. Did you read that part? They had fuel conservation issues. And even with that, Button rode away from Vettel after the SC like nothing.

Champions bampions...they have 2 championships in their history, take a look at McLaren and see who you are underestimating.

Hopefully this won't turn into a Red Bull vs McLaren argument, more maybe a discussion.

Anyway, Red Bull are playing catch up at the moment and if it wasn't for the safety car, they may have been fighting for 2nd rather than 1st in Oz and they might have finished 3rd and 4th rather than 2nd and 4th.

As long as Red Bull are developing, McLaren are as well; and we all know how good McLaren are at developing a car. So to catch and pass McLaren, Red Bull have to come from behind and develop faster than a team that is renowned for developing fast!

Should be a good season!

It's entertaining to debate these things! I won't make any firm conclusions until the spanish grand prix though. Gotta let the teams show what their car can do over time. The 2012 championship trophy is the final conclusion, but none of us wanna wait that long to speculate on who's the best this year!!

Vlad, I realize that last year being 8 tenths up on McLaren, at the first race of the season, has changed into being nearly 7 tenths down on McLaren as the first race of this season. It's probably a shock. It happens, Newey, Vettel, just two people in a team of hundreds. Enjoy the fact that your team got a second place finish and have a competitive car come race day. I don't understand why anything less than domination seemingly a failure to you.

I think the most a driver can hope for at the beginning of a season is a car that they can put on the podium consistently.

I do not think that it is a failure, far from that. But I know that Red Bull is equally good as McLaren. Not currently, because of FIA, but it will be there in race or two.

Don't blame the FIA, the blowing diffusers from exhaust gases was illegal last year too. It's just by the time they took action on it, all teams were doing it and they decided not to force a massive change mid-season.
