Coulda sworn Irvine won it one year though?

1999.

Yeah, but I was only choosing to highlight the previous ten winners, lest the list became tediously long.

Sounds like a Massaesque excuse... :P

I didn't realise that were are in the 14th year of Sepang... where did the last 14 years go?...

As for the race, I expect McLaren to be favourites; they seem to have the best overall package this season, chassis, engine and drivers... hoping for another Jenson win!

I might miss the race as I'll be flying to Thailand that morning, Funny thing is I stop off at KL on the way a few hours before the race. so Im tempted to not get on the connecting flight to Thailand stay in KL and go to the race

Imagine Lewis' face afterwards, if Jenson romps off to another one........

I've heard that Q and race will be changeable weather, Jenson does like a bit of changability... fingers crossed, question is; do I dare nominate him for the win in the pool and put a curse on him!

I can't wait, hopefully Sauber and Lotus will get a greater chance to show of their pace and pick up some valuable points.

McLaren to be strongest again I think, but will it be Button or Hamilton? How will Hamilton respond? He was very despondent after Australia.

One would hope that Lewis doesn't let defeat get to him, as we've seen it do before. To be honest, in combat at Melbourne, he wasn't at his best :-?

Hopefully webber doesn't get bogged down at the start. If he doesn't, I can see him fighting for the win. He was slayin' hoodrats left and right last year while he was the only top runner without KERS!! He needs to roll option, prime, option to make it happen I think.

Otherwise, hoping to see that mercedes doing some work on the two straights!!

Speaking of Merc, I've just realised! That's the second year in a row in which the team has failed to score in Australia!

Ah yeah very true :( Not sure I'd want to be in the same room as ross brawn during the race debrief. I'm not sure which would be scarier, him yelling or being dead silent.

I remember when Mark put the Jagaur on the front row next to Schumacher's Ferrari back in 03 or maybe 04 at Sepang, I think the best Qualifying performance in his career probably. Anyway I was so looking forward to the race only to watch Mark F##k up the start and was 15th into the first turn :irked: , I think was his worst start of the line in his career, Anyway goes to show that Mark has a bit of a long history of crappy starts and Sepang hurts you heaps if you get a s##t start down that long straight.

Yes, I remember that, it was 2004. I always had a soft spot for Jaguar, and I was gutted when 2nd place turned into midfield at the start. Ahhh, it was never to be, not in those days... :(

Normally he comes back pretty hard after a loss to Button, this happened numerous times in 2011.

Don't forget what he said before the race weekend - "We are aiming for good points, not necessarily victory". The way he drove in Melbourne, it looked very much like 'safety first', and probably thought his teammate would be somewhere near him. In overall I think he was shocked with Button sprinting from the get go.

You can bet he'll go 100% from now on, knowing he's already behind by 1. If he loses again pacewise in Malaysia, something is seriously wrong. In his head.
