They do. But maybe they'd be better trying to develop a new style of their own. They cant just copy BBC because all the personalities are different. I think they should raise Damon's profile and leave Brundle as a technical guy and maybe pit lane (ok that bits the same) He just seems so ill at ease.

Really? The commentators were ok but the filler sections were annoying as hell. They could have easily have shown qualifying in full and then have a quick recap at the end. Another poor effort from the BBC!

You should have seen what was on SKY if you think that was poor!! And they had all the time they wanted.

But let's be honest Andrew, WHATEVER the BBC came up with, the odds were. Clearly against you liking it. Because you've made it obvious you don't like BBC.

Why don't you just find a dodgy site to stream sky from and then mute it? From all your posts it's clear that you just want action and none of the pre/post punditry?

Well I expected a poor effort from the BBC and that is what was delivered however this is what I am stuck with for the time being. Hopefully what they class as "extended highlights" of the race will be better.

Bearing in mind I made quite an entrance onto this forum spitting and spluttering vitriol at the BBC, I am reasonably satisfied with what I watched earlier. It did a fair job of presenting the viewer with an insight into the excitement on track. No it wasn't perfect, but considering the time limitations it was a good effort. Frankly Andrew I don't think you'd be happy even if the BBC presented the entire race season live from your garden...

One thing we now know for certain, Ferrari weren't sandbagging during the off season...

The bread and butter sky coverage is nothing special in my opinion, I didn't think that Brundle and Croft worked that well together, Croft and Davidson are great fun to listen to in the commentary box. But when you add in the onboard shots, live timing and driver tracker, that makes things more interesting, but for those who are paying £30 per month to be able to watch live, it's a little on the steep if you are not at all interested in the other channels included with the HD package!

And they really can't hide (didn't even try) their joy because british drivers/team are/is on the front row... Same reason I stopped watching F1 on RTL (commercials too). That's so unprofessional.

I didn't see that in the end, what was on it?

I watched for about half an hour but got fed-up with the adverts for the Sky F1 channel both during the programme and the ad-breaks. Aside from that, the bit I saw had Martin Brundle and Ted Kravitz discussing the Red Bull rear end. It was nothing special, you didn't miss anything that you probably hadn't already picked up from other sources.

David Croft does get quite excitable particularly when a Brit is on the go. Anthony Davidson was the perfect match (kept Croft under control I think ) for him on BBC Radio 5 and the 2 were a very balanced commentary team. The BBC1 commentators (Legard/Brundle & Coulthard/Brundle) were just over-excited all the time and could rarely see past the Brits. David Coulthard and Ben Edwards were pretty good today though and quite balanced.

The BBC's race first race live is China and I'm pretty sure viewing figures will be overwhelming in favour of them. I wonder what they're reaction will be? They've come quiet heavily into f1 with a dedicated channel and stuff.
