Mclaren- car looks really strong
Merc- also a good car with awesome straight line speed
Red bull- only 5th and 6th (didn't see that coming) and kers packing up again, just like last year
Ferrari - we all know that work has to be done there
Grosjean - great effort from him
Kimi - didn't make Q2, What!!

thats what I got out of that Quali session

you forgot HRT was part of the track's new chicanes

HRT have started this season more worst than last year, I think they were closer to 107% last year.

ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT!!!!

MCLARERN 1-2

COULDN'T OF ASKED FOR A BETTER START TO THE SEASON!!!! :whip::clap::whip::clap:

Hamilton now needs to reinforce the fact and show the world why he's the best driver on the grid.
Button did superb, just shy of Hammy (but that's to be expected).
Grosjean drove a belter!!! What a surprise! Should have a very strong season ahead of him. Hopefully Kimi can follow suit.
Vettel in 6th?!!! Now we can find out what the 2x WC is like as a driver :hehe:

As for Ferrari. I think Alonso got unlucky ending up in the gravel, and Massa has proven to Diminocelli that he doesn't deserve a Ferrari seat anymore!

Why is everyone surprised with Grosjean? Anybody that follows any of the other main series Grosjean has competed in knows full well that he has the pace to compete. The problem isn't, and never has been, with his pace, it's with his consistency. We knew that the Lotus was there or thereabouts, so we shouldn't then be surprised when Grosjean does indeed put it close to the front. If Kimi hadn't mucked up his own final run in Q1 then it's likely they both would have been around the same area.

Excellent from McLaren, good from Mercedes given the obvious Rosberg mistake and considering that Schumacher actually didn't have the most clean lap either - there's more to come from them in the race I feel.

I wonder how Red Bull will do in the race, potentially better given that most of their testing was carried out on high fuel loads, but certainly not the pack leading car of the past couple of seasons.

In 2009 he qualified 14th at the European gp and 15th for the Italian for renault. No doubt he's a fast driver, but Lotus have for sure upped their game!

Alonso couldn't even do anything with that car though - what hope did Grosjean have coming in mid-season (something that has been proven time and again in recent seasons to be a very difficult thing to do) to a crap car? He was given an unfairly rough ride from F1 fans first time around. Glad to see that (so far) Lotus are giving him a car he can do something with, but bearing in mind what happened to their car last year, I'll hold off on my praise of the team for the time being!

You asked why everyone was surprised he got a result. I didn't say he was slow. He just didn't make much of an impact when he was last in F1. Hence why most people may seem surprised at someone most people haven't heard of qualifying on 3rd!

The Mclarens looked dominant today!
Mercedes also with an impressive performance!
Didn't expect red bull to perform like this(I was expecting a close fight w/ mclaren)
Lotus seems to have upped their game this year. Impressive drive by Grosjean! I was expecting more from Kimi...
As for ferrari, I knew they were gonna struggle but I wasn't expecting them to be this bad....

I know it's only first quali but WAHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Things are looking very good for the new season.McLaren 1-2 ,although I'm still trying to stop laughing at the ferrari's
Surprised to see the red bulls so slow.Superb from Grojean, simply amazing to see him 3rd.Williams back in the top 10,Vettel only 6th :yikes: Mercedes look as if they will be challenging all season aswell.

I think we could be in for one of the best seasons for years.McLaren,Mercedes,Redbull,Lotus and who knows who else will be in the mix ,never write a Ferrari comeback off either.
