back to exciting 12 laps mode? Or is it still the boring 3 sessions as the last year?
The reason I ask is Australian GP is very early in the morning for me. I wondered if it is worth to get up and watch. In last year's format falling asleep was guaranteed any hour of day.

I think qualifying is very exciting! Last year, it was more exciting than the racing. But 2010 was the most exciting for me.

The fight to get in to Q2 and Q3 was just the start, then you had the top 10 "shoot-out".

I like this style quali. Now if you want boring, remember the one lap at a time quali. :zzz:

The 3 stage qualifying is too much like some moronic gameshow.

Not a patch on the old (and proper) format of 12 laps per driver and they can do what they like over the course of 1 hour.

It has grown on me. Not as good as th eold 12 lap wild west but not too bad. The worst was the one car at a time deal. Also I forget the reason but they had guys burning off fuel. I found that pretty awful.

You should be kidding. It was boring. Normally I was cancelling all my appointments, visits etc during qualification and race. But since a few years both the qualification round and race are getting to more and more boring. I literally fell asleep last year in many races. No excitement, no exciting takeovers, no fun. Just wait tires to get corrupted.

I'm a big fan of the current qualifying format. I think it's the best we've had. The one lap system was crap and boring. The system beforehand was great, but I think the current format is even better.

Gradually eliminating the slower cars to leave just the top ten is great viewing, and providing tyres are in supply, then the action is immense.

It is funny how quickly people forget things.

the 12 lap qualy was OK but if the track was drying you would get all the cars out trying to do all 12 laps in the last 10 minutes, yes that was an exciting 10 minutes. The 50 minutes prior to that was a bore.

The one lap quali again was boring but it put the pressure on the drivers to deliver on that lap, it certainly mixed up the order. especially if it rained half way through the process.

I actually prefer the 1 lap per driver qualy...no risk of idiots slowing you down on your fast run, and you're in the spotlight. It was pretty exciting to see the best drivers bang in the fast lap on that one chance, do or die.

Or the old 4 lap run in 1 hour....the last 10 minutes are nearly ALWAYS epic.

Current format is a bit tedious for me. More onus on the team to get it right than the driver himself.

I find the knockout format just fine, but they should let the top ten drivers use whatever tyres they want at the start of the race instead of using the same compound from Q3, other than that its fine.
