Alex Wurz watched all the cars at the 2nd test session. he watched them as it got windy and downfor`ce was reduced. He's written a little piece about each team and based on what he's written Edd Straw has scored them all out of ten. This is what he scores them
Red Bull 10/10
McLaren 9/10
Mercededs 8/10
Force India 7/10
Ferrari 6/10
Torro Rosso 5/10
Williams 5/10
Sauber 4/10
Caterham 3/10

So what do folk think of those scores? I thought Ferrari :yikes: And was a bit sad Caterham only got 3.

ESPN F1; Lewis Hamilton kept "a nice amount of fuel" in his McLaren during pre-season testing so as not to reveal its true performance to its rivals.

Pre-season preparations stepped up a gear at the final test in Barcelona as teams brought final upgrades to their cars and set the fastest times of the winter. Hamilton clocked the tenth quickest time, 0.400s off the the fastest of all set by Kimi Raikkonen, but hinted there would be more to come from the MP4-27 on low fuel.

"On the final day I did 115 laps, great mileage, so it was a positive way to end the winter testing," he told a selection of UK newspapers. "I think we were one of the top teams for mileage. I also kept a nice amount of fuel in the car for all my tests. I wasn't really bothered with positioning. What matters is when we get to the first race."

He said he was expecting a much closer fight at the top and that the use of exhaust gases to influence aerodynamics would continue to play a big part in the performance of the top cars this year.

"It looks like it could be different to the past couple of years where we've had the Red Bull much quicker than everyone else. A couple of the teams have different exhaust solutions. Ferrari, Red Bull and ourselves have a similar solution. The others, like Lotus, has a different solution, so do Mercedes and they still seem to be quick. So it will be a battle as to which of the designs has the longest road of development and how far ours can go. It's going to be interesting to see who is quick and who is not."

Read that, but I think it's the same scenario for all the top teams anyway, including Mercedes. Martin did say he expects the top teams to have a couple of seconds at hand.

How do you think the changes McLaren are making to their nose will play to each of their drivers widely diffewring driving styles? They have removed the under -nose splitter... which increases the efficiency of the rear. If it gives too much rear downforce, they'll back track and go the other way.

Lewis likes oversteer and a loose rear; so it should play into Jenson's hands initially until Lewis can adapt. Jenson is the number one driver at McLaren at the moment, so as much as they deny it, McLaren seem to be catering the MP4-27 slightly more to Jenson.

For the record, as a Lewis fan, I'm not complaining; just stating the facts. :)

Facts have repeated verifiable evidence or derivation from a logical structure based on other facts. Care to share with us?

I also think this sort of stuff should be in the Lewis Hamilton thread, or it'd start to dominate other discussions.

I knew you'd come around eventually

Although admittedly it hasn't been like this recently, and the Vettel ones are prehaps starting to take over.

Look on the bright side, the calmness of the off season has ended, we're back to full passion

I know that having a drivers that have oppersite driving styles covers all the bases. However why don't teams think "his and his driving style are similar, lets employ them both and make our car work to that style"

I thought about that but its not about Lewis its about McLaren and their testing changes. Couldnt find a McLaren thread and didnt think it was big enough to require a thread of its own.
