For the non skyers, there a programme on tonight at 10pm for 2hrs '2012 F1 preview'. Its on a station called 'picktv' and its freeview. No idea what it will be like but Im recording it (pub calls )

I watched this. It was actually the SKY preview prgramme shown on freeview. I wasnt impressed(though to be fair I watched it after midnigh and was tierd). It told me nothing I didnt already know. Brundle looked stiff and awkward and there was non of the comaraderie we've got used to on BBC.

I agree I watched the first hour (then I got bored and did the washing up and folded the washing)

I missed the 1st hour as Layer Cake on Channel 5 seemed far more interesting. From what I saw of what can only be described as a 2 hour Sky advert, I didn't miss anything. I think I watched about 30 minutes but got bored of their presentors very nearly taling turn about with each sentance and their bloody touch screen thing for drawing circles round things that were already pretty obvious. It was every bit as bad as the BBC coverage.

Yeah it wasn't amazing but we were missing Jake, Eddie and David.

It's early days yet though. The BBC had F1 (properly) from '09 to '11; maybe after 3 years of Sky Sports F1, it'll have the banter that we currently enjoy on the BBC. Jake used to be a complete tool on F1 knowledge when the BBC first started and he turned into an aficionado. Maybe Georgie Thompson and that rugby guy with the blonde hair will do the same. They were air heads.

First job? Ditch the suits and football talk, "Transfer window", "Off-season"? Gimme a break. This isn't the Barclays Premier League, this is Formula 1. Wear shirts but you guys don't need the jackets. I understand it was the premier of the channel so I suppose it fits but we'll have no more of that thank you very much!

I can agree with some of the points you make, but as you point out, it's their first show, you need to give them a little slack for being stiff.

As for the suits etc. This is not the BBC. Just because they liked to spend 59% of their air time, laughing at Eddie's stupid shirts, and DCs stupidly tight white jeans, doesn't mean Sky want to. If Sky are going to do half the technical analysis they are suggesting, then they can do it naked as far as I care.

And as for banter. Well. Yeah it can add to things, bit I'd happily lose it for the tech stuff....

This is about Sky but since we don't have it here and I want to vent ,I'll talk about how dissapointed I am.There were 4 channels demanding to broadcast F1 by 2012.I didn't really want one of them to get but now it did.It is not even a channel it is a satellite TV provider,which we don't have so we'll have to pay someting around 25 Euros to get it.Ah come on!Also,in Turkey people start to follow F1 by coming across when swithcing channels,now people won't even have that chance!

Thats bad. Even in UK where F1 is firmly entrenched I think they'll loose loads of viewers because of it going to SKY.

I didn't like that Gadget Geeks thing.

They called a Honda Civic "a nightmare", "a rust bucket", "useless" and dissed it in many other ways. The Honda Civic is one of the greatest cars of all time!

And the 370Z they kept billing as Nissan's top of the range car, erm, what about the GT-R? One of Nissan's best ever cars, one of the best cars of all time and one of the fastest cars in the world.

Colin called a yellow Ford Fiesta, "a Fiat" during the drag racing they did at the start. I turned it off after that.

Those guys may be smart but they're clueless when it comes to car facts.
