Obviously he's not completely happy about leaving F1 the way he did....from the fact he needs to toot one last sad little horn before leaving.

Somehow I would guess that he is not happy, one day he has a contract for 2012, the next day he hasn't, F1 contracts are not worth the paper their written on it seems!

It's a shame Trulli didn't go to Ferrari. His early career was pretty good (better than some drivers who have gone onto bigger and better things) but sadly things seemed to stagnate for him.

Jarno Trulli was better off at Toyota probably. He really stood out during his time with the Japanese squad and emerged as a strong team leader. Can you imagine this occurring at Ferrari? Nah...

McLaren have announced on Wednesday that British teenager Tom Blomqvist, son of 1984 world rally champion Stig Blomqvist, has joined the select group of young talent on their driver development programme.

“I’m thrilled to get this opportunity with Vodafone McLaren Mercedes,” said Blomqvist. “The competition gets fiercer every time you step up a category, and having this level of support will really improve my strength and confidence.”

That has to be one of the coolest racing driver names ever.

Jarno Trulli was better off at Toyota probably. He really stood out during his time with the Japanese squad and emerged as a strong team leader. Can you imagine this occurring at Ferrari? Nah...

A win or podium stands out much more than great performances and fights for P10... and the occasional mechanical failure........... Unfortunately, its very difficult to understand a great performance from drivers in poor cars/teams; unless its a funky situation like Vettel in Monza, that Force India in Spa or Hulkenberg in Brazil....

Bear in mind that, had it not been for the disaster at Indy, Toyota would've beaten Ferrari to 3rd in the WCC back in 2005. It wasn't all doom and gloom for that team, you know.

A reminder that the silly season is still with us, this is an interesting read though.

Sir Frank Williams admits that it was "a mistake" to let Adrian Newey leave his team after rejecting a request to give him shares.

Newey joined Williams in 1990, and had won 51 races, three drivers' championships and four constructors' titles by the time he left for McLaren mid-way through the 1997 season. Williams went on to win both 1997 championships too with the FW19 - the last car that received Newey's input - and has not won a title since.

Williams has revealed that the reason behind Newey's departure was a disagreement over shareholding, and admitted that it's proven to be an error.
