Unfortunately this could be the last Australian GP. Hopefully not, but going on the recent news developments...

All good things come to an end. As long as it is replaced with somewhere of equal or better quality then it is no real loss.

easy for an armchair fan living in Europe to say with short drives away to multiple races! Try saying that to any Aussie fan who's next closest race is in Asia...

And Assa it won't be the last the current contract with Melbourne lasts until 2015.

If England lost it's GP I would say exactly the same thing. Doesn't bother me where the races are held (with the exception of Spa, Monza and Intelagos - they are untouchable), as long as it is still a good race, I'm happy.

Um Yeah If you've lived in Australia you'd know what a long drive is, next closest city for me is 8 hours drive away...You Euros don't know how easy you have it with so many countries within a few hours drive away. I drove from London to Spa to see the GP in Belgium. That Drive is nothing!

And i guess seeing as you're not a race attendee it wouldn't, maybe if someone stole your TV now thats a problem.

Does anyone else get the sense that Lotus and Mercedes are going to be further up the grid than last year? Trouble is, there's no team looking to mover back to make way for them. Except maybe Ferrari.

WHAAA... I did the entire drive to Montreal last year in nine and a half hours, including rush hour traffic in Montreal!

Well Adelaide to Melbourne isn't so bad but for example Perth to Melbourne trip is a 3,500km trip. According to google maps 37 hours drive. Difference between Aus and the US is our interior is sparsely populated between Perth and Adelaide is the nullarbor plains it's a bore to drive

Done Melb-Perth (across the Nullarbor) at least half a dozen times, but not it the last 20 years. Back then if you saw a car coming the other way you'd wave madly. Wish I could find the picture, can't so you'll just have to imagine, Bud's picture gives a fair idea of the terrain. Well, some typical Aussie smart-arse must have stopped on a long straight stretch of road, and, with a can of white paint, painted a pedestrian crossing. Can't imagine anyone not having a good laugh when they came across that - we certainly did.

I think they most certainly have moved forward. Problem for them is that Red Bull, McLaren and possibly Ferrari (their so-called troubles have been far too heavily self publicised for my liking) have moved forward as well.

I think they most certainly have moved forward. Problem for them is that Red Bull, McLaren and possibly Ferrari (their so-called troubles have been far too heavily self publicised for my liking) have moved forward as well.

One thing that Lotus certainly won't want to repeat is the steady decline of form the team experienced in 2011. Podiums in the early season, and then fading backwards into the midfield wasn't a pretty sight.
