[What's Burning?]

I went to Autozone today and bought some engine coolant, which is fine, but I also bought a car vacuum cleaner, I was told it was 12v powered, took it out of the box and it had a mains power plug, so took that one back and got a smaller vacuum which was 12v powered and it basically couldn't suck up anything, not even dust, upon unclipping the front section to check for blockages, the clip that held the front section on broke, so that one went back as well, I gave up at that point... now waiting for the engine to cool to put the engine coolant/anti-freeze in!

You realize that you overheated your engine in the back and fourth trips to the auto-parts store.

The coolant levels weren't that low, the coolant light only stayed on for about one minute from cold before going off, just wanted to get it topped off before it became a problem!

To run more efficiently you should really flush coolant then replace it rather than topping it up.

I don't even know how to flush it out, there is no valve or cap underneath the Resevoir to release the liquid, and the car is a little heavy to tip on its side

I worked, then I got home and showered. Afterwards, I went to the shop and got two loaves of bread for a euro.

It wasn't today but Wednesday afternoon, it annoyed me so much, I felt I had to share it with y'all! I went to Firestone to get four new tyres as the tyres on the car were on their last legs, losing pressure constantly. So I bought four Bridgestone Dueler tyres, which came to $720 plus $80 for alignment which needed to be done, the front wheels where facing opposite directions. Apart from the shock of having to pay so much for tyres, this was fine. So I pay for the services, and as I am about to drive off, the salesman knocks on my window and says I have to come back in. They had managed to charge me for someone else's ticket, but instead of charging me the difference; they took the whole payment again and refunded the original amount as their system was unable to process part payments. But that means over $1400 was taken from my account and it took 36 hours for the money to be returned, which was an inconvenience for us as we had the car booked in for a service the next day elsewhere, luckily the cost of the service and needed repairs came in under the remaining funds in the account!

I hate these companies taking liberties with people's lives, lesson learned, I will not be returning to Firestone!

The ability to charge the difference is there, it's commonly used. The issue is the employees not knowing how to do that.

BTW, one of the hidden secrets of driving an SUV is the high cost of tires. I can buy 4 high performance street tires mounted and balanced for 500 bucks.

Browsing round a shop (poundsaver or something) the other day I remembered I was needing a lightbulb. So there's one of those longer packs with 3 bulbs along the side and I buy it, got home, took the first bulb out the end of the box and replaced the dud. Just now, 4 days later the bulb goes, that'll teach me for buying cheap. Anyway, I go into the box and there's only 1 bulb! It turns out the box is only long enough for about 2 1/2 bulbs so there's not meant to be 3 and there's nowhere on the box that says how many are in it, only the side of the box has pics of 3 in a row. I'm not pissed off or anything but find it funny that not only are they cheap crap but they have the cheek and are somehow able to package them like that.

I spoke to the supervisor and manager, they all said the same thing, their ticketing and charging systems are linked, apparently! At that point, I just wanted to leave!

I knew about the higher cost of tyres for SUV's, guess part of my annoyance is that the Destination LE tyres wore out after just a year, the dealer claimed the the tyres were new when we bought the car back in December 2010, they certainly looked new, but I am starting to wonder now, the difference in how the car drives is astonishing!
