What a great bunch of drivers in those teams, all of a very high calibre. To see them all fighting for podiums / at the front would be immense!

I'd love to see another Brawn GP innovation but I think the era of silver bullets is at an end.

FIA approve Mercedes rear wing
Technical Director Charlie Whiting has no doubts about legality

Technical Director Charlie Whiting has again passed Mercedes' controversial rear wing design as legal.

Red Bull Team Principal Christian Horner asked for clarification from the FIA after Sunday's Australian Grand Prix, whilst McLaren Managing Director John Neale said the team would trust the governing body to make a definitive judgment on the issue.

The system appears to be activated when the drivers use the DRS system on the Silver Arrows, adding to the stalling effect on the rear wing and increasing straight line speed.

Horner, and Lotus Team Principal Eric Boullier especially, had declared their scepticism in the build up to the season-opener around Melbourne's Albert Park.

That was despite the fact Whiting had declared it "completely passive" ahead of the first practice session last Friday.
Grey area

Doubts remained, however, although no protest was launched in the wake of the race, with Horner instead asking Whiting to again look into the matter.

Horner suggested there was "a grey area" which needed resolving before the teams spent a lot of money on copying the device.

With Friday's first practice looming for the Malaysian Grand Prix at the Sepang International Circuit, the FIA have confirmed that Whiting has no doubts the system is in accordance with the regulations.

I still support merc, I hope all teams come up with something the others don't know. That's how this game works.

The only way the FIA will ever get true equality is if after each race, the teams have to share their information with each other after each race.
