Wait, wait, a news about Bernie that doesn't include the word ''money''??Maybe he is thinking of Alonso and Hamilton as teammates in Ferrari, which will interest people. Well, anyway I can't think Lewis in another team but that doesn't mean it wouldn't be good. But not in close future,I think.

News about Lewis. Lots of interest. More money for Bernie.

sometimes I wonder if he has finally lost the plot altogether then I remember it Bernie - he lost touch with reality years ago

The sprinkler lark confirmed that. Ludicrous idea.

No it wasn't. The theory behind sprinklers weas sound and it would help make a boring race a bit more interesting. However, sprinklers would have a been a bit too artificial - just like DRS.

Sprinklers getting switched on unannounced mid-way through a race?!?!? It is nothing BUT ludicrous!! How to make the sport look a farce in one, easy step! I couldn't believe it when it was suggested.

DRS is a totally different thing. It doesn't create a pass. It makes it possible.

Sprinklers would exist only to CREATE false "action".

Water on the track unannouced?! That's never happened!

DRS is totally false as would be sprinklers. Both would/do only paper over the fundamnetal problems with modern F1 which prevent overtaking. F1 has evolved to a such stage where artificial aids are sadly needed.

OK, well a 2 minute warning is what the old guy stated. I'm sorry, but I completely disagree with the comparison with DRS. The two things are totally different. Sprinklers would be so blatant and fake and in-your-face it's untrue. DRS isn't like that.

I don't see it like that. DRS is totally fake. All the thrill of the chase then the anti-climax of pressing the magic button and there's you're pass. Once upon a time there was real skill (ok there is still some skill needed but I don't think as much as there once was) in over taking with one driver having to out-fox their opponent, pushing them into a mistake, out braking them etc etc. DRS has none of the spectacle of how overtaking used to be but as I said this is how F1 has evolved with more and more complicated aerodynamics, more efficient brakes and the cars getting faster.
