Heard yesterday that Sauber might be one team that had some weird effect going on.

Well it's probably best that it gets sorted sooner rather than later. They don't want to be loosing the points they scored in Melbourne two years on the trot!

From BBC1.....

With testing ongoing, it has emerged that there is some debate about whether all are complying with new rules governing engine mapping.

This has been heavily restricted this season in an attempt to stop teams using exhausts for aerodynamic effect.

BBC Sport understands that the parameters being used by some teams are under discussion and that governing body the FIA may issue a clarification of the rules this week.

Think Red Bull truly believe rules don't apply to them. Video below has them clearly still using their extreme overrun mappings. Hopefully it was Ferrari that officially complained and, equally I hope that they do everything needed to make RB and anyone else comply.

Can't really tell much from the video I think, though it could be the device I'm on. But I can tell you still have a grudge against RedBull... Now you know how it felt for the rest of us back in Ferraris gimmes from the FiA days.

You can bet if Redbull has found a solution, it's something the FIA cannot lower the boom on. They aren't stupid (Redbull that is), if it gives an advantage and they can explain their way out of it, it is legal. Just like how they've been doing it the past 2 seasons.

By my count we had more take aways than gimmes

Technically the FiA didn't backdown last year, they simply agreed not to take action when all the teams agreed to let it continue for 2011 on the basis that it would be banned for 2012. I don't think there's any way Ferrari will stand for it this year. My money is on a technical directive and change to the ECU effective before the Aust GP.

It's Ferrari that don't play by the rules, remember?

The clip shows nothing other than a Red Bull being followed by a Virgin/Marussia so to say that their car is illegal from that clip is utter bovine manure! The FIA has declared it legal so end of. As for Ferrari complaining, there is no doubt about that. If they didn't think of it, it's obviously illegal is the attitude in Ferrari these days.

Oh God I completely agree with this post.

that's because you're watching instead of listening.

What's that's saying, "sometimes its better to remain silent .... "

[Hammer278]

Are you seriously suggesting that Redbull can't do what they want during testing? Who says they can't test with an illegal car (if they can derive input from it why not?) and then turn up at the race weekend with a legal car?

If you seriously think Redbull are stupid enough to turn up at the race weekend with an infringement that we can pick up with our EARS, you're on some strong pills mate!

[What's Burning?]

The entire sport is based around the premise of how much you can get away with! It's not cheating if it's a loophole and if the ECU mapping left a potential loophole then it's being addressed appropriately and more importantly AT THE RIGHT TIME!!!

[spankyham]

Unconfirmed from another forum but they are saying the FiA are indeed publishing a Technical Directive and mod'ing the ECU before Aust PG and it is to stop illegal overrun.
