Vettel was impressed by the McLaren on its long runs today and has picked it out as the car to watch

Probably. Lewis' time was pretty good though

Oh I think its a bit more than playing games.

Based on what? One test session where all teams are running different set-ups and wot-not and testing new parts on their cars. Going on the early test sessions from 2011, Merc should have been champions by a long-chalk. Turned out afterwards that they were running both cars on fumes with very sticky tyres.

Of course based on last year thay are but as LRW says, it's all mind games at this stage.

Ferrari and Mercedes looked superb in last year's pre-season testing. First race came, and they were nowhere. All this talk of who's on form and who isn't is just idle bibble-babble

I was saying that Vettel saying "Mclaren are the biggest threat" is just mind games.

I dont think anyone was saying the test days were a waste of time. And all Andrew was saying was, you cant compare cars yet, as they are all on different set-ups, fuel weights etc.

Surely you lot dont have this discussion every year?

Cyclic discussions on here are tame, it's the arguments you need to watch out for. Vettel seems to be the new hot topic.
