Bill O'Reilly is an hypocritical @ss and his arguments tend to be hollow and self serving at best... most of the artists he mentioned that died from drug abuse died from overdoses of LEGAL drugs administered by doctors. I wonder if he's just as opposed to alcohol.

Let's also not compare the amount of peripheral deaths caused by the drug trade, or the loss of income that comes from the taxation. Most people that want to legalize drug use are speaking solely of marijuana.

He's also the kind of guy who's morals allow him to bribe a Long Island Police Chief with contributions to a Police Benevolent Association, if the police chief would look the other way while he had cops investigate a fellow detective that just happened to be dating Bill's ex wife.

"Nobody takes drugs for that long if they want to stay on the planet" I :censored: laughed my :censored: off when I read that!! I'm not sure if it actually has comical value yet, or if it being the first thing I read coming from his mouth shocked me so bad

Just found out what Bill O'reilly said. What a putz. I mean, really, does he deliberately make himself look like a complete a$$hat? Seems everything that spews forth from his mouth is the same diarrhea as the last. He obviously thinks there are people who value his opinion. Everytime I see him I wanna Spork him in the urethra. How is he allowed on TV? WTF is wrong with Fox? Why are they still allowed on TV for that matter? I don't get that channel anyway. If i I did I'd be buying new TVs on a regular basis due to the frequent occurrence of flying bricks.

Maybe a bit soon after her death but the fact is she was a drug abuser which you could say is a route to self destruction. What he said was close to the bone but it had to be said at some point.

Anyway, for those of you who don't have Google, here's a link to what the guy said.

yeah I have to agree, I think what he said is just factual. I lost a close uncle a couple years ago to alcohol addiction. he was in and out of rehab many times. family tried and tried to help him but in the end it was up to him to stop and he didn't. He would always go back.

Its sad about Whitney but drug abuse is a self destructive act. there is no one else to blame but the person them self.

Yes, he does. Alcohol is a drug.

Not aimed at anyone is particular, just a general thought, but it is funny how in the Amy Winehouse thread there was a general feeling of "oh it's just another dead drug abuser" and here in the Whitney Houston thread we have another dead drug abuser and there is general outrage at someone who has pointed out this fact. The difference being someone who seems to be unpopular because they don't sugar coat what they say has pointed this out but I'm pretty sure if a more popular media figue had said what this guy had said there would be less outrage.

Yes it is very sad when someone dies before their time and yes I have sympathy for the family and those left behind but when that person is willingly on a path of self destruction and has been in and out of rehab to no avail for years I find it difficult to feel sorry for them when the innevitable happens. Thousands die each year through substance abuse yet we only seem to get upset or be concerned when someone famous dies.

i think he is just talking about addiction in its various forms, alcohol is still a drug.

Then you don't know the history and volume of work of the man, the racial insensitivity and his war against anyone who's not catholic or white or conservative. He's not mentioning alcohol purposely, he's not saying all drugs should be abolished, and he certainly wouldn't denounce the liquor industry for making the product your uncle died drinking the way he's denouncing drugs for killing people.

Human beings are by nature addictive/obsessive/compulsive personalities, whether it's umpalumpa or online forums or legal drugs or illegal drugs or sports or hording or serial killing, or.... the list goes on and on.

Read what I said above. It was a general comment not aimed at anyone. You only have to listen to the media and there is little sympathy for addicts until some mega-star dies and then we can't move for all the sympathy and messages of "isn't it terrible" then the fuss dies does and society goes back to looking down it's nose at those less fortunate.

Great way to proceed with a discussion. Someone disagrees with you so invite them to commit suicide.

:hehe:

Wouldn't that be ever so slightly :gay: ?

He doesn't actually specify which building but a dog kennel could be classed as a building. I suggest we jump off a dog kennel - they're only about 1m tall. :D
