Good on Martin for sticking up for himself and the fans. As to the guy who was ranting on about him, he isn't biased towards the English like the rest of the ITV team.

As for the point about Alonso by demure, Fernando was my favourite driver before his antics this season, and maybe Martin has always known where Fernando's mentality would eventually take him.

Maybe now Alonso is back with Renault he can get cuddles from Flav and everything will be OK. And he'll probably finish 7th in every race : :D

Mark Hughes says a lot things. I don't one of his remarks to date has had any reliable foundation.

That's a fairly naive veiw IMO. Go back to the mid 90's and Ferrari were nothing and the Williams/McLaren battles were all that F1 needed. The majority of F1 fans would not have missed Ferrari too much back then.

McLaren also went on a rut as well after Senna left and it was Williams and Benetton battles at the height of the Hill vs Schumacher rivalry. Then Benetton went backwards and Ferrari started to come back and then McLaren. It's really a cycle in F1, what comes up must go down eventually and then back up again.
