Questions and answers about going to a race weekend

I worry that the private owners of this, won't make their money back on it. I think including what they had to pay Bernie, (i think we know him well enough that we are on a first name basis now), will put them over 400 million? Even if they spread the ticket sales over 10 years, that's like 350 or so a ticket? That's not figuring in what it'll cost for the mini amusement area they want, or v8/motogp either.

Be cool if nascar took a shot at this as one of their few road courses.

Why are you worried about someone else's money  ?

Because if it goes under we don't have a USGP in texas?

If it goes under, you have a US GP in New Jersey.

If you are a Texan or live in Texas why not list it as it will eliminate confusion for us Texans and Texas residents :) . The pace of construction aswell as the current ticket info released tells me that there are some people who will be eating crow and here are some current progress pics, enjoy :wavey: .

No I'm in Iowa, originally from Missouri, but a Texas GP is closer to me, and I have a brother in law that lives here. Plus, when I can go to a race, it'll be way easier to go to taxes than it would New Jersey. And I'd rather see a race track not a street circuit.

McCombs: Circuit of The Americas will have strong ties to San Antonio...

Also, from a couple of days ago...

Ten things to look forward to in the 2012 F1 season

http://www.f1fanatic.co.uk/2012/01/30/ten-2012/

The United States Grand Prix

Tilke’s latest creation, the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas, will host its first Grand Prix in November. On paper, there’s much to anticipate about this new venue, with a Silverstone-inspired opening sequence of fast corners and ample elevation change.

And F1′s return to the States is certainly something to be celebrated. F1′s popularity in America may never rival that of NASCAR or the National Football League. But being a minority sport which in a country of over 300 million people is hardly a bad thing.

And it’s clear from the feedback I’ve read on F1 Fanatic the sport has many dedicated and passionate followers in the USA.

I'm actually driving from San Antonio to Austin on race day. It's a 1 hour trip. We'll be heading off at around 4:30 am probably anyway. :hehe:

Yup. In the tradition of Peter Egan, we'll load ourselves with warm donuts and hot coffee, and away we'll go!
