In my book a driver needs at least 7 titles or to have some sort of apprenticeship where they pay their dues in a lower team. Pretty much the same in real life where I can't respect someone who goes straight into a promoted post without proving their worth.

That's too bad. If someone is promoted 2 or even 3 steps higher in 1 go, maybe its due to the trust/capability proven to the big bosses as they've seen enough to justify the decision? Taking Lewis' case, it was more than justified when he showed the world how a double WDC was pleading for No.1 status and then ran back to his old team when the kitchen got too hot for him. Plus even if you don't like it, you still gotta suck it up and comply to their wishes (in real life that is).

What a weak argument Andrew, Like Vettels had it hard!! Most of his junior career paid for by RedBull, first F1 drive being a works BMW car at the tender age of a teen when most at that age in F1s past were still putting in the hard yards in lower formulae.

Difficult to avoid arguing sometimes, though I have to hand it to you , you parried that one extremely well!!(makes note to self on how to avoid pointless, sensless, time wasting bickering)

I agree, arguing will happen, especially on forums where people are behind a keyboard, and are more willing to confront than face to face. But sometimes I believe people on here will ignore what someone has said, just so they can carry on arguing. And this is not aimed at anyone in particular, its more of a general observation I have found from lurking on these boards for the last year or so.

But i suppose that is bound to happen when people are discussing a subject that they are so passionate about. And the one thing you cant argue is, we are all passionate about F1.
