Very sleek car. Looks great! Unlike last season, I love the car at first sight...and hopefully it's a winner from Australia onwards!

Just seen the new McLaren now after a long 12-hour working day. I'm very pleased. It looks nice, rather conservative in fact when compared to the platypus-nosed Caterham. But as people have said, this could be a good way forward, given what's happened in recent seasons.

I hope this is a McLaren that's right on the pace from Day 1

I'm so glad the McLaren MP4-27 hasn't got an 'ugly bump' on it's nose

Let's hope that great appearance will translate into great pace.

In the meantime...

Ferrari have been forced to cancel the official presentation of their new Formula 1 car because of heavy snow at their Italian base in Maranello.
Instead, the new car will be unveiled on Ferrari's website, ferrarif1.com.

"The decision was taken because of the weather conditions and the difficulties facing the 300 or so people due to attend," a statement read.

The team hope the as yet unnamed 2012 car will be a title contender this campaign after a difficult 2011. Fernando Alonso's victory at the British Grand Prix was Ferrari's only win of last season. It was a poor return after the Spaniard narrowly missed out on the title in his first season with Ferrari in 2010.

The team have admitted they need to tackle a culture of creeping conservatism in the design office, and have promised a more adventurous design following a reshuffle of their technical team.

If they had a sense of humor, they'd name the previously unnamed 2012 car The Ferrari Escort.
