I'm glad Mr Washed Up doesn't have a seat anymore in F1, but hell what about Sutil? He was best of the rest (after the top 4 teams) and he doesn't get a seat in F1? Madness.
senna deserved the seat more than sutil. sutil has no more left to give to f1 whereas bruno may have more potential than him
You're joking. What exactly did Senna show? That his last name is the same as one of the legends of the sport, but we knew that before he entered the sport.
Sutil almost single handedly gave Force India one of their best seasons ever, his 2nd half of 2011 was nothing short of impressive. He highlighted himself as a good potential and received a kick in the ear instead...with some average guy riding on his last name getting the seat. Crap season for Force India coming up in 2012.
Re: the single handed bit - absolute nonsense. In the last nine races of the season Sutil scored 24 points - Di Resta scored 25. And in the majority of races Di Resta's were against odds as throughout 2011 Force India were proactive in trying different strategies for each of their drivers with the aim to score points regardless of what may happen in the races. In every single race Sutil was given the strategy advantageous to a normal flag to flag race whereas Di Resta was given the strategy of coming into the equation if X, Y or Z scenario unfolds. This means that often the points that Di Resta was getting were actually as a result of driving through the field from a disadvantaged position. That is the reality. And in the first half of the season he had a horrendous run of luck that was pretty much forgotten by the season's end when he scored in 6 out of the last 9 races.
And I'm not saying that Di Resta is streets ahead of Sutil by any means - what I am saying (because it's true) is that they both drove very comparably to each other, and given that it was Di Resta's debut season in F1 after several years away from competitive open wheel racing, whereas it was Sutil's sixth consecutive season. I don't necessarily subscribe to the view that Sutil wouldn't develop further at a bigger team, but what I definitely would say is that Di Resta has potential to develop where he is, whereas I don't believe that Sutil does.
Also re: Senna having his chance to shine at Renault, are you nuts? He stepped into that car mid-way through the season when it was already going backward down the grid. The car was at that stage a completely different animal to what he had driven MONTHS before at pre-season testing. It's been proven time and time again that it's incredibly difficult to jump into a car mid-season in F1 these days and be on the pace - See Fisi after an excellent season for Force India then being ineffective in the Ferrari. Yet Senna went 4-4 with Petrov in quali's. In the races themselves, Renault have been completely open and gone on record saying that Senna had incredibly bad luck with reliability issues beyond his control in the majority of his races.
This will be Senna's FIRST full season in F1 (neither at HRT or Renault having been full seasons), and first with a proper uninterrupted pre-season followed by first race. He IS a very talented driver - you don't win GP2 races at Silverstone and Monaco if you're not. I'd prefer to hold my judgement in F1 terms until he's been given fair crack, which is THIS season coming up. Anything else is premature.
