Jenson is certainly pulling out a lead over Lewis in this poll! :horse:

Just as well Lewis is good at overtaking :)

Well, as long as that Felipe bloke's not involved...

So is Jenson, he made 77 passes for position after the end of lap one, only bettered by Sebastien Buemi and Sergio Perez!

He was also the most overtaken by his team mate.

Which isn't surprising given the amount of close on-track battles they had throughout the year. What a great pairing of drivers... no other team at the sharp end of the grid can boast TWO BRILLIANT talents.... undeniably the finest pairing at the moment.

Just look at how close this poll is...even-stevens! That wouldn't have been the case with Red Bull or Ferrari, both teams having displayed quite blatant anti-racing tactics amongst their drivers... :drummer:

I'll give you that one, but that also says a lot about Jenson as he must have been ahead in the first place to be overtaken by Lewis... Mark Webber and Felipe Massa weren't ahead of their team mates very frequently. Lewis is definitely the faster starter, but sometimes slow and steady wins the race, especially with fragile tyres, having better tyres at the end often plays dividends!

Still two months from the start of the season and the banter has started already, good times ahead! :)

The bad news is that Felipe Massa is in front of him, so a crash is imminent... :yikes:

My opinion of Lewis and his ability to maintain long term success in the sport drops a little every season. And this opinion is indirectly proportional to my opinion on JB.

His calmness, and his ability to recover a result from what seems a wasted weekend / race is second to none, in my opinion.

So Button is my vote, LH gets to flustered and emotional in races.

Hopefully this new McLaren will be strong from the word go, and the Lewis V Jenson battle can take place at the sharp end! :drink:

I like both Jenson and Lewis and you can understand the confidence the former has drawn upon from his 2011 season. It is annoying to see him bleet on in every single interview how he came 2nd in 2011 though, and that's good but not good enough, and how he feels so at home with the team blah blah blah. It is the broken record approach he took through-out 2011, at every opportunity trying to cement himself in the team and position himself as the leader. Fair play with the mind games, it's much more a game of psychological brinkmanship with Lewis than the head on approach that failed Alonso when he was partnered with Lewis. Strangely I feel that Alonso pushed Lewis more than Button has out on the track.

The bottom line is, both drivers at 100% then for me its always going to be Lewis who comes out on top. If Button can keep him off balance psychologically then that will change everything.

Well, I want Jenson to do it. I feel he is a better driver. Yet I voted Hamilton.

Why? I don't know. I just closed my eyes and imagined the final standings. With Vettel on top and Lewis and Jenson seperated by less than 10 points. Lewis just nudging him out.

By the way. I have some friends who have a son named Lewis. They are not far away from their second child being born. They'll do the ultrasound tomorrow and if it's a boy, they will call him Jenson.

If it's a girl, I have suggested Nicole Sherzinger. But otherwise for an F1 name the best I could think of was Elly out of Pirelli. :P

Would have also supported Ayrton for a boy's name... But maybe I should take a step back from the situation, let them name their own child and I'll have plenty of names to chose from when and if that situation happens to me.

If Lewis can overcome his personal demons, I'm sticking with him. Up until he crashes into someone, Lewis pretty consistently outperforms Jenson on the track, so if he can get his head back in the game a bit better I see no reason that he shouldn't be seeing Jenson in his mirrors more than directly ahead of him.
