Just as it says...

unfortunately this kind of market is in crisis, at least here in italy, as the number of model builders is reducing...tamiya is just making models of the japan GT series, no more formula 1, and other factories like hasegawa are not at the level of tamiya! the most part of the collectionists like the die-cast models, becuase they don't want to spend much time in building themselves!

You are correct certom the market is VERY VERY thin these day's. There are virtually NO habby/model shop's left, everything is on-line now.

I used to make models all the time, haven't for several years now though.

I still have them all in the garage, boxed away.... mostly tamiya and a few burago (sp?) ones. Some aren't in great condition now, and i think i still have a half-finished Toyota GT1 somewhere too!

I don't have any f1 cars, but among the finished ones are a JGTC NSX, Porsche GT1, a Vauxhall (Opel) DTM car, some Group C Nissan (R89C?)... then a bunch of others.

Applying the decals is the most infuriating part of model building, it's probably worth getting some other models with complicated decals to practice on before you do the rare one.

Whoa mate the Burago was an italian factory that failed some months ago! If you have any models still boxed and untouched, I think that here in italy they could pay much..it depends on the model, and in some cases the box worths more than the model itself!

Yes, the decals application is the most infuriating part! and i'm still not so good in it, as I always leave air bubbles under the big decals on the sides of the cars, and then they all brake!

Hmm... i think i have boxes for several of them, mostly Ferraris, 550, F50, maybe the F310 too (hahaha) but i wouldn't think the condition of any are completely perfect (but not at all ruined either)...

i had troubles with the big yellow side decals of the Subaru, and also troubles by matching the engine cover and the body of the Ferrari, you can clearly see it, but i'm satisfied of my work!

What make's these model's so extrodinary, yah I know it's another Ferrari, is they are 1/43rd scale and the detail is simply amazing!

Not sure if this would be classed under models, but I've still got some of my old Scalextric stuff. :)

My uncle used to collect HEAPS of it, when I used to live next door to him we used to go up into his loft and make a huge track and spend all day racing. When he got a Jaguar and Porsche sports car with lights on it, we decided to turn off the lights and let the lights on the car do their job. :D

The cars I've got are all F1 cars, I've got a 1989 Benetton B189, Williams FW11 with Mansell's Red 5, Alesi's early 1990 season Tyrrell 018, a 1992 Minardi, a Williams FW16 with Damon Hill's number 5 on it from the 1996 season and Hakkinen's 1995 McLaren.

I feel kind of tempted to start collecting again and get hold of some old classics such as JPS Loti, but I got no room to set it up.

I haven't built a plastic model for a long time but I was into it during my teens. Currently I'm working on this 1/3 scale Tyrannosaurs-Rex replica I'm building out of Birch. Its nearly completed now, just need to add the teeth and arms. Its BIG!

I will post more pics when its completed.
