Barrichello should have retired after 2009.
He failed to win the drivers tittle with 2 very competitive teams/cars (6 years with Ferrari, 5 of which he had a championship winning car, and the year with the championship winning Brawn GP) so did he really think he could do better with an un-competitive Williams?
I'd much rather see Bruno Senna get the seat at Williams for this year..

I saw an article only yesterday which stated Bruno has shrugged off the speculation about him driving for Williams. This suggests that he's no more certain than any of us lot at this time. He neither confirmed or denied interest from Williams.

I would love to see him with the Grove boys though.

I don't think it's fair to say that it's Bruno's last chance to prove himself. I think he proved himself quite capable in the few races he did last season. It's been proven time and again that it is not easy to jump into a car mid-season and be immediately up to speed. Anybody that thinks a driver should be able to do this automatically and be on a par with his team-mate is incredibly naive. Yet last season when Bruno got his chance with Renault / Lotus (whatever you want to call them), he performed admirably. I'm quite sure that had he been in the seat the whole season he would have beaten Petrov in the standings.

Anyone who watched Bruno in GP2 knows that he is an exceptional talent, he's not yet at any point been in a position to prove himself in F1 terms in any way that people can draw conclusions. The only way that can happen is for him to get a drive at a car that is at least capable of being relatively competitive (i.e possibly Williams, Toro Rosso, Sauber - that sort of level) from pre-season through to racing proper without a gap of several months between the two. He's not yet had that.

If Bruno were to get the drive at Williams I'm confident he'd at least match his team-mate, no matter who that team-mate might be if they were competing on equal terms (i.e. both from pre-season testing through to racing as noted above).

you are dreaming if you think rubans had a shot at ferrari. He was michael's bitch, and only injury to him would have stopped that.

That's kind of my point. Barrichello's had the best car on the grid for 5 or 6 years over the course of his career and he never turned that into a title - Schumacher dominated Barrichello at Ferrari, Button dominated Barrichello at Brawn. If Rubens was a good enough driver he'd of put up fight at some point. I think he should of stepped aside for a younger driver a few years ago..

He signed as driver 1B to driver 1A. Barrichello was the only person on this little planet to be fooled into thinking that he was going to be on an equal footing as the guy who was classed as the best F1 driver racing at the time. Either he's a fool or he lives in a dream world. He expecting to be on equal terms as Schumacher was laughable! He may have been on equal terms at Brawn but Button walked all over him for most of the season.

I don't think that bruno is probably ready for Williams, id say give it another year. Then decide.
