Yeah that's one area I'd readily agree where Jenson is more talented than Lewis - his taste in women. It's not just Jessica, I thought one of his ex's by the name of 'Louise' was something special as well.

The singer. (Yes Jenson's had singers too ) Louise sang one year at the post race Silverstone party. And one of her songs was regularly played on the tele on the grand prix programme, like they do the chain now. Must have been ITV then. Anyway then he dumped her.
But yes I think Jessica is lovely. Nicole, whilst I can see she's sexy, I just find something not so feminine about her... a bit manly looking?

Alonso wasn't just "having relations" with a pop star. He was married.
He's very private as well.

Most of you hadn't heard about Raquel because her band signs in spanish; they're only mildly popular... and many people didnt even know they were married when they either heard the band or something...

Why wasn't Alonso ever given grief for having relations with a pop star?

Probably because no-one has heard of her... I certainly hadn't, but saying that I didn't even know Alonso was married... Let's be honest I couldn't care less about drivers personal lives.

yup. More or less. I had heard the band before, like a song or two... and when i saw somehwere they were married, i was just like.... "ah, so that's his wife"... interesting... move on. hehe

:drink:

on a random note: I heard Alonso is coming to my area for vacation this week... Timo Glock was here last week. My wife even saw him. Alonso is coming this week or so.....

And if Lewis married Nocole would that have changed anything for him? I used the term relations for a reason.
But thank you for nailing it on the head. I asked the question in a rhetorical manner She is not an English speaking star so the press don't care the fans don't care. The fact remains she was still a pop star.

Because his manager/PR people don't make his private life a big deal and make every single detail public knowledge. I guess it helps that Alonso's now ex-missus is managed by someone else.

And Lewis' proactively did? I'm pretty sure you'd find it was the other way around. Surely you're not that naive when it comes to the media?

Try reading what I wrote before jumping to the wrong conclusion. I didn't say Hamilton has done anything. I said it was his manager/PR people who are one and the same for Hamilton and his missus or ex-missus or whatever the hell they are now.

For someone who has no interest in the personal lives, you sure know a lot. I'm a Hamilton fan and I didn't know about this little nugget.

Even still there is no marketing done as a duo their management have nothing to do with the media attention. It's irrelevant even when Lewis' dad was his manager the media scrutiny about Lewis living it up with famous people was there. But it's ok for Alpnso and others to do it without making headlines.

Reading through this thread, the thing that springs to mind is that Lewis is getting all the attention from the English speaking press; which makes sense as LH and Nicole are big stars in the English speaking world. But with Alonso and his ex-wife, they are not native English speakers, in Spain they make have gotten the same amount of attention but we have heard nothing about it.

Good on him. Xenia stated that she's got a strong personality and thus, is looking for a man with a strong personality. Careful what you wish for...

Its not the same to bring some long-term parter to work/races, than it is to bring a girlfriend...

Even so, Alonso's wife (and lets say most of the other drivers' wives) arent present at every race nor are getting as much media coverage, so people generally care about it less. In the case with Jenson, who is in a long~ish relation with a super model or something... they catch some brief exposure and that's it.

But i dont think Lewis gets/got any more grief than everybody gets. I mean... i've fallen of places while under the influence, much more often than Kimi, and somehow everyone thinks of Kimi as the guy who falls off boats while drunk and eats Magnums at races. I have to admit... the stuff i've falen off is considerably less glamourous than Kimi's boats. hehe

So yeah..... star people attract media. People under media exposure get talked about. People that are talked about get grief when they do something people generally dont approve of... but they are also over hyped about stuff they aren't really as good as people make them out to be (ahem Brittney spears can't sing for s**t and she's a famous "singer"... and Pamela Anderson is not really hot at all... and she's famous for being hot or something)..... so in the end, it balances out i think.

You know they aren't at every race because? You are basing that on what the media lets you see. It's like Lewis was getting grief about his dad being at all the races even when he was his manager. Yet every other drivers dad is there but to no grief. Now Lewis is getting grief for not having his management at every race like his dad used to. I think it's just clear a lot of fans are picky and choosey when it comes to Lewis compared to the other drivers.
