The US gallon is 3.78541 liters and the UK gallon, also known as the imperial gallon is 4.54609 liters.
The mile is the same in the US and UK: 1609 m.

Actually I need to correct you; in the UK, there is no such thing as a liter... the people who speak the Queen's english write "litre".

Andrew I've noticed, ever since Fraffy left, you've picked up the slack. Sibling separation anxiety?

Could we please have Fraffy back. 2 Fraffys even.

The sun feels so nice on your body, you can almost feel the good its doing.

Nasty. But sufficient vitamin D through sensible exposure to sunlight helps prevent cancer. And lots of other things.

23degrees is unnecessarily chilly!! 35 plus-divine

You should live in Msia. All year round, 35 - 38 degrees. Sunlight every day. With heavy rains. We experience sun rain too. (Bright sunshine, but raining hard at the same time). Truly the land of paradise.

I could live with that!!

Because your queen speaks a foufou Franglais: The word litre is derived from an older French unit, the litron.

11/8 ON to win the constructors title?

Wishfull thinking

[LewEngBridewell]

Yeah, it's not that dark up here. Pretty much every day in summer was sunny and warm. Plenty of sunlight and vitamin D.

Nope, north of Manchester and you're at risk. Not enough sun.

Well I come from Lancashire, so I'm buggered then!

What do you do about the smell or the humidity? tropics is ok for a holiday but I couldn't live there.

Have McLaren also stopped their staff exhaling, or at least forced them to wear carbon scrubbers covering their mouth, nose and arse?

The University of East Anglia, the Holy See of the MMGW religion, have been caught, first falsifying their data "proving" MMGW, and later conspiring to suppress evidence refuting it. The chief weather scientist of the USA's National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration recently wrote, "Advancements in Numerical Weather Prediction out to 10-15 days have been a great success story. I have watched and admired its steady progress over the last 55 years. Advancement in Numerical Climate Prediction, by contrast, has been a total failure and done much harm by falsely alarming the public, scientists, and government leaders to a massive coming CO2 induced environmental degradation that is not at all realistic. Skillful climate modeling is not possible despite what its many practitioners claim."

It doesn't matter whether they call it MMGW or "climate change" or "spotted sausage," it's still a hoax. I should think McLaren have more material problems to address than expending resources tilting at windmills.

Yeah mankind can't have any affect on the planets ecosystems who are we kidding

[What's Burning?]

Ever heard of the greenhouse effect? Why Venus is 900 degrees and Earth isn't? Now spend a few days in Beijing in the summer and or any other Smog filled city on the planet and tell me it doesn't contribute.

Anyone that needs more proof than the disappearing glaciers, it out of touch with observable science in my opinion.

Whether man made, or not is really not the point... There has been a steady decrease in the polar ice caps and the ONLY way that happens is with an increased average global temperature. We can do better by our planet and have the responsibility to do so.

99% of scientists say global warming or climate change or whatever you want to call it is real and there are piles of studies on it. 1% of scientists say otherwise. Besides the fact that we should look into which petroleum company is sponsoring those studies... Look at it this way.

Example, 99 doctors tell you you've got diabetes and should take care of it eat right, take insulin and exercise, one doctor tells you, it's okay, you're not really bad, just keep doing what you're doing. Which advice are you likely to follow?

[racechick]

No actually there hasn't. Theres only been a decrease in the north. The south if anything has increased.

I just came across this. Its an interesting read. http://www.theregister.co.uk/2008/07/03 ... page2.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I think too many 'experts' have jumped to too many conclusions. Yes man has an effect on the panet, but there are greater powers at play.
