Superstition?

superstition is also the reason why no japanese driver except for Sato has ever used the number 4 on their car, because in japanese, 4 and "death" have almost the same pronounciation..

Many elevators in hotels, e.g., don't have a 13 either. It's still pervasive in the western culture

I would drive an F1 car if it had 13 on it if anyone is willing to give me a go in one

another curious superstition is the green.. Henri Pescarolo was the only (and maybe IS the only) to have a green helmet, then he found his team using the green on his cars. Last year he was forced to change to blue, due to the sponsorship of PlayStation (green is the colour of Xbox)...

I always thought that Green was Britain's original colour in racing. To go with the German Silver and the Italian red
