But Sutil has proved himself. he also deserves that chance. Not an easy decision for a team manager but Sutil should have stayed.
Obviously not well enough, as Mallya has decided*.
At the end of the day, Sutil is a known quantity. He's proven himself to be a good midfield driver with the odd flash of brilliance (Monaco 2008 before Kimi hit him, for example), but he was overshadowed by Fisichella in 2008 and 2009. Five years and he hasn't really gone anywhere. None of the front-running teams have taken much interest in him, whilst rookies have come in and been snapped up or highlighted as future stars who are likely to move to better teams in that time (Vettel, Pérez, Ricciardo and di Resta are just a few examples). di Resta and Hulkenberg present a rather exciting lineup at Force India and it shows their intention to push forward with some very talented young drivers. They did well to challenge bigger teams towards the end of the season and finish only four points behind Renault. For me, this is a statement that they want to target fifth place at least next season and with these two drivers, as long as they have a good car, they've got a shot.
* I could actually be wrong here and this decision could have more to do with the incident involving Sutil and the Genii Capital guy in that Chinese club...
