There were 11 team principals voting - I wonder why Toro Rosso did not?

Anyway, the max. would have been 275 pts. - if only 10 voted (with Horner abstaining) then the max would have been 250. SV got 241 pts. Mathematically this would be impossible to achieve with only 10 voters, while with 11 voters and a deficit of 34 pts. it can be achieved with 2 votes coming in as second and 2 as third.

What I find interesting is that Sutil is ranked #8, but is presumably still looking for a race seat next year. Everyone else on that list is pretty much set in their team, if not for sure set. Does that seem right to you?

I'm 100% sure Sutil will be on the grid next year. Just hope he doesn't end up in HRT or Virgin though.

Sutil didn't really do anything impressive until there was uncertainty about his future. Plus, in the five years he's been in the sport, he hasn't really shown himself to be anything more than a midfield guy in my opinion. :/

Alonso was better than last yr. but yet he dropped 2 places

Button was also better this yr, but he improved so thats ok.... maybe Whitmarsh did vote for him.

Vettel was perfect... dont think anyone could have voted against him; except the RB people, because they're prob the only ones who know how much better than the rest their car actually was hehe

To put some perspective: with the way they drove, Button and Alonso could have won the title on the RB. Unless the were up against Vettel. That's more or less what the poll implies.

The thing is with this situation, di Resta has really stood out in his rookie season, much more than any of the others (Perez has also done well, but the form he showed in Melbourne was sadly and ironically his best-publicised triumph). For a rookie to have such a solid debut year as Paul is a good sign.

There's no denying that Adrian Sutil has also driven excellently, and has outscored his younger team-mate fair and square. However, five seasons have now passed, and unfortunately for him... the novelty of seeing him drive solidly in only the midfield is beginning to wear off. I'm glad the bosses have ranked him in their top 10 though. He deserves the recognition.

It doesn't matter what you, I, or any other forum member thinks. The point is, according to this poll, he's clearly well-thought-of amongst the team principals. In addition to the sponsors he has, I find it very surprising he doesn't have a seat locked up for next year, at least for another midfield team.

Force India's car improved a lot around the same time - not many people notice great drives to 13th unless it's in a Lotus or Virgin. Di Resta had a strong rookie season, but he didn't outperform Sutil.

But a team boss not allowed to vote for his own driver who's in with a chance of winning it, will cause his driver to loose out much more, than the team boss not allowed to vote for his driver who has no chance of even getting in the top 10.....surely . Do you understand what I mean?

10 out 12 total drivers, 2 per team, its perfect math.

Yeah that's a good point, going from F3 to DTM for a few seasons before F1 is not the usual path to take. Being out of open wheeling for that long isn't beneficial.

RC Vettel would have lost out with Horner not being able to vote for him, it all evens out.

I know he would. That was the point I was trying to make. the drivers more likely to score highly will lose out more if their team principal cant vote.
