Great to see renewable-energy-using modes of transport like this enjoying a good deal of success.

Bit short on deck space though. No practical use for passangers, AHTS, supply of cargo ships. Can't see this taking over from diesel electric engines than are currently used in ships, especially as commercial supply ships are now being built to be fueled by LPG.

Nice to see it can be done though I suppose.

11 tons of lithium ion cells.

While it's an impressive feat I'm still not convinced by solar power.

Haha you took the bait! Batteries are the furthest thing from environmentally friendly. They are also very dangerous. Actually the solar panels and their manufacture are also less than eco happy.

Nothing man made can truly be 100% environmental friendly, these people are trying to push the boundaries of what's possible in which will further the technology to be more efficient.

I'd store the solar energy and keep on going when there's no sunlight, at least for a while
