I can't believe how everyone is underestimating Mercedes AMG F-1. I predict Mercedes will challenge for multiple wins on a regular basis with wins for Shumi and Rosberg.I don't think Ross is ready for retirement just yet.

There's been a few posts around this forum basically predicting last year's result...

I would certainly not bet against Mercedes enjoying an upturn in form. Who can say at this stage? It would be nice though, as their commitment may wane, the longer the period of not winning continues...

Which is all the more reason for Merc to pull out all the stops the next two seaons. Multiple podiums next year, world championship in 2013 with Rosberg and DiResta.

If the signs point towards a championship winning car in 2013, I don't see Schumacher moving way.

If we look at the 60s cigar tube cars with no wings, I don't know if there was a lot of passing, but it was gripping to watch. It would be cool to get that kind of feeling today watching races. But the tracks were different, no Tilkedromes, more fast corners and fewer tight ones, longer circuits, so I don't mean to make a comparison, but reliance was purely on mechanical grip until Lotus IIRC put on a wing because there was nothing in the regs to prevent it, just shows things don't change in a way. Today the teams still try innovating in the aero side of things, coming up with new ideas that aren't prohibited, then they get prohibited. From here it looks like they don't do much research in mechanical grip. Part of the reason is the culture the FIA breeds. I would like to see a reduction in downforce and super wide tires.
