I agree. Amidst all the hype about Paul di Resta (and don't get me wrong, that hype was deserved), he still had a very solid year for Force India. It's not time to draw the curtain on his career just yet.

Yeah, I don't understand why they're so eager to jump to Hulkenberg. Not that he isn't a solid driver, but If they like him so much, why not give him some races in 2011? Or at least some practice sessions? What has happened in 2011 to make them want to use him more now? It's obviously not a lack of performance from Sutil, nor a lack of financial backing...

just doesn't make sense to me. Do they just think he has more long-term potential? Risky business, that.

Force India are in the difficult position that Lotus have also found themselves in this time too. They have a whole host of solid drivers that they have to juggle around. I'm glad I'm not in their shoes. Di Resta, Sutil and Hulkenberg are all very good, as are Petrov, Raikkonen, Senna and Grosjean for Lotus.

I rated Nico Hulkenberg very highly in 2010. His second-half of the season was pretty good. And that pole in Interlagos certainly opened many eyes!

yeah, i get that. But my point is that everyone seems to think it's more likely Hulkenberg will get the drive next year. Why? It would be one thing if Sutil didn't perform well or if Hulkenberg had more sponsorship (and I don't think he does). So what's the deal?

Williams have confirmed that the driver still to be announced will be an experienced driver. My money is on Barrichello finally calling it a day and Sutil taking his place with The Incredible Hulk partnering du Resta at Force India.

It'll be shame for Rubens Barrichello's career to end on such uncertainty... being the most experienced racer of all, and all that... he's a wonderfully nice guy, and his presence will redoubtably be missed around the paddock.

But the old guard can't stay around for ever, of course....

He's long overdue being put out of our misery and sent to the F1 retirement series that is DTM or NASCAR. They certainly won't miss his moaning about Ferrari and Schumacher. He must be the only guy on the planet that fell for Ferrari telling him that they had no No. 2 driver, just driver 1A and 1B - what the hell did he think 1B meant?!

To be fair to Rubens he has a knack of finding the good car to be in... well he seems to get to the team a few years too early but it all turns out good. He was always just the bridesmaid, and never the bride.

Marussia will have begun using McLarens wind tunnel and Carbon fibre productions by then. They are beginning to rival Lotus/Caterham in the taking this F1 venture seriously ranks. They won't be rivalling his current team but considering them or no seat at all its a no brainer.
