MOA's point was that given Lewis' relative lack of performance, as well as some questionable off-track behavior, it's completely understandable that his vocal support of Lewis was slightly more understated than that for Jenson.

Last year, when jenson's relative lack of performance was clearly perceivable and also at times this year and certainly during quali, the vocal support from Whitmarsh still overflowed.......but good to see others are noticing this difference in support.

Lewis' 'off track behaviour',whatever that is, is Lewis business. If McLaren dont like it and dont want him, fine, they dont have to sign him. They can look around for a faster driver.

Maybe I should rephrase, his trackside behaviour while talking to the press... If he puts himself in that sort of position in front of the watching world, it's hardly his own business!

Why single Lewis out? Kimi does it. Montoya did it. Barichelo has his moments. Petrov has done it. The list goes on. And its preferable to coporoate boredom coming from the drivers. These are racing drivers not politicians. They're often asked questions after the heat of a battle, possibly feeling annoyed or frustrated. They're employed to drive a car not make speeches.

Can you imagine if Lewis told the press "I was having a sh*t" in response to Why weren't you watching Pele wave a flag? :hehe:

Or if he lambasted McLaren like how Petrov did to Renault?

Or if Lewis shouted over the radio "VETTEL IS A F***ING IDIOT! WHAT A F***ING IDIOT!".

Few people here would ask for his head to be chopped off.

I'm not singling LH out; this thread is all about him... not Raikkonen or Barrichello or Petrov... a driver throwing his toys out of the pram is nothing new either, I wasn't impressed with Petrov's outburst recently either, I can't recall much of what Raikkonen said to be honest, probably because I was never that interested in what he had to say.... ZZZzzz...

In our daily work, if we had outbursts like that, we'd more than likely be fired, for the amount of money they get paid, they should be able to control themselves. If I threw a fit or blamed others or god forbid bring up the race card, I would expect to be written up or fired, yet I manage to restrain myself as a grown adult, even when I was Lewis' age!

because the argument you're putting forth is that Witmarsh prefers Jenson over Lewis. It has nothing to do with any of the drivers you just mentioned. You don't see Jenson making an bottom of himself on camera.

You have a point, Jenson would be a great politician.

I dont actually see lewis making a bottom of himself on camera...more I see people making a bottom of themselves in their repsonses to his every move.

You're dead right there! (the s*** one was to Schumacher winning the world championship)

I still can't believe people would s*** on jenson just because they love hamilton.

I loved the Chicago Bulls, and I really enjoyed Michael Jordan, but I didn't go around, blasting BJ Armstrong, Scottie Pippen, or Horace Grant just because they weren't Jordan.

Is there really no support for the team itself that he is at, or do you believe he is the only reason Mclaren is successful?

I'm a Hamiliton fan, but I am also a Button fan, and more importantly a Mclaren Fan.

That's a dumb analysis. I had no problem with Jenson (completely neutral) until a few instances where I am convinced he's a backstabbing character who has the right smiles and moods for the cameras. So it's not just because I'm a fan of Hamilton.

I had my 'dream team' before when it was Kimi and DC in McLaren, but since DC left McLaren I am still waiting for my next 'dream team' in F1. :hehe:

I have been supporting Lewis,Jenson and McLaren ALOT this past season simply because I find myself not so gung ho about Vettel. Lewis took the fight to Seb as much as his car allowed and that was great to see.

Well you see Im a Hamilton fan first, mcLaren second, so we'll come at things differently, but I still want McLaren to be successful and of course i dont believe Hamilton is the only reason for Mclarens's success, how could I possibly think that with all McLarens history?
I dont really have a problem with Jens(though as Hammer says there are instances where he's played situations to his advantage and other's disadvantage...with a smile).
My problem is only really with one person, unfortunately I find that does sometimes colour my attitude to Jenson and I know thats unfair.

This is when/why I really fell in love with Hamilton's driving. I loved watching him in GP2. The same cars and far less political nonsense and steward interference. Loved it!
