Err.nice livery, but no thanks. Makes me think of Arrows cars which were out in the rain too long.

This is a winner anyday...ditch the chrome and go back to this!! :D

But whats up with that number 9 on the car, I knew Mclaren had a bad year somewhere in the 2000's but didn't think it was that bad.

In '04 they had some poor reliability allied with a car that was pretty slow out the box. They recovered to some pretty impressive later season pace (even won at Spa) but the teams ahead of them were just more consistent across the season.

Yeah it was. But from that immense failure, the 2005 McLaren was born and that was a real monster. A monster which dominated in pace though it broke down every 2 races. :crying:

Mclaren also won it with 27 on their car as well in 1990.

Oh yeah he did didn't he....well I dont count 2009 as a WDC year, the double diffuser saga was a real farce in the sport TBH. :P

It'd be nice to have McLaren Honda back but I wonder about the wisdom of such a decision should it happen, how much time, money and energy will Honda put into developing a top engine; their last engine wasn't the best out there, somewhat down on power on the best engines, e.g. Mercedes and Ferrari! But saying that it is a completely level playing field with the new engine regs!

Some teams got screwed by the engine freeze...

Having said that the 2009 Honda was shaping up pretty well by all accounts before Honda pulled the plug and the team became Brawn.

The difference this time is that Honda would be the engine supplier only and not a constructor so their costs will be passed onto McLaren.

You also have to remember that the Brawn wasn't powered by a Honda power unit, it had a Mercedes lump in the back, the car may never have performed as well with a Honda V8!

Precisely. Brawn would not have won with a Honda lump...no way~

That cars advantage was in the aero, if it was all engine why wasn't McLaren winning from round 1?

I'd put my last dollar Brawn still would have blitzed the field in Australia if they were Honda. In fact if they were still Honda they would have had the budget to develop the car through the season unlike with Brawn who fell backwards as the season went on.
