Lewis Hamilton ended his recent stand-off with Felipe Massa after embracing his Ferrari rival immediately after the Brazilian Grand Prix.

The Briton has experienced several run-ins with his Brazilian rival over the course of the campaign - which has included collisions in Monaco, Britain, Singapore, Japan, and India.

The pair had never spoken about their situation, with Massa claiming Hamilton had snubbed him in Singapore and the McLaren driver suggesting he saw no need to speak to his rival.

But in a bid to draw a line under the tensions that have developed this season, Hamilton visited Massa at the Ferrari motorhome while he was speaking to Brazilian journalists.

Speaking about what happened, Massa said: "I never had anything against him. I always respected him, even this year after everything that has happened.

"I think it is nice of him to come here because it was never going to come from me because I did nothing wrong during the year."

Hamilton said about the moment: "It's been a long hard year for all the drivers, and I hope they all have a good winter. It was good to have a nice chat with Felipe after the race. I have great respect for him and I'm already looking forward to racing him again next year."

Ferrari team principal Stefano Domenicali also praised Hamilton for going to see Massa after the race.

"I think that I was pleased today to see Lewis Hamilton coming here today and hugging Felipe, because at the end of the day that is what it is all about," he explained. "It was a good gesture and I am happy it is pretty cleared up. I am very pleased for that."

Well thats disappointing Massa, because clearly you have done some things wrong this year. You could do your bit!

He's a bit too stupid to differentiate right and wrong. Normally humans have the capability to do this, but for some reason Massa has not inherited this reasoning power.

I think Lewis is a bit soft sometimes. Or maybe he's just a bigger character than I am...but I'll never approach someone who has done me wrong and then b**ched about me constantly in public.

I think Massa looked a bit miffed when Jake presented him with the Bad Boy of the year prize. Lewis took it in stride pretty well.

Maybe the british humor was lost on Massa, though.

Massa didn't possess much humour to start with anyway. At least Lewis feels as if he's got something off his chest. One less thing on his mind over the winter.

To be honest, I'm surprised that Massa wasted his time. Must have been told to do it by a PR type person to make Ferrari look good at burying the hatchet.

Not much is more than nothing where it concerns someone you have not got any time for. Best just to let sleeping dogs lie.

Too bad Massa disagrees with you. He has a lot of time to bi*ch about Lewis to the cameras, you can find quotes everywhere. You seem to be living in a different world, unfortunately a world very far from reality.

[andrew]

I'm living in a different world because I don't think Massa should waste his time and should just do the sensible thing and let things lie? Rrrrrright(!)

[racechick]

He's had plenty of opportunities to do the sensible thing. Now he's refuted the latest offer.

[andrew]

Sounds familiar.

[racechick]

Yep. Getting a little boring now. Time to stop.
