Ferrari don't care about Massa or they would let him show us what he is capable of. Everytime things are going well and a good result is possible, Ferrari screw him over for Alonso. It does however suit Sandtander and Alonso to have Massa in the other car.
It's hardly surprising that he has lost some of his speed since his crash. He nearly died and he hasn't had or been given much (if any) opportunity to regain all of his confidence. It wasn't that long ago that he gave Schumacher and Raikkonen a run for their money at times so he is capable but sadly he's gone the same way as Karl Wendlinger - a lot of potential, huge crash and then he sadly couldn't match his pre-crash form.
