Andrew- I cant take your comments really seriously as you have a down on lewis and will come in on any arguement which downs him.

So what if I don't like the guy? I could say the same about you where Schumacher or Vettel.

As for Hamilton, I just don't think the sun shines out of his backside and I don't subscribe to your conspiracy theory about Whitmarsh not supporting Hamilton. Simple fact is, he has but in a different way to Button.

I've bolded the key part as that is the bit that you need to understand to see where I'm coming from on this.

Whitmarsh has performed very professionally

:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

Laugh all you like but that is the same reaction I have to your claims of Whitmarsh favouring Button.

FYI, I'm an F1 fan above team and driver preferences so even putting my dislike of Hamilton, Button and McLaren aside it is painfully obvious that Whitmarsh has performed very professionally and as he should do as a team principle, though no doubt if the driver positions were reveresed this discussion/thread would ,in all probibility, not exist.

Try watching the season again from an unbiased point of view and you'll see that the claims of McLaren/Whitmarsh favouritism are total and utter bovine manure.

This is exactly the issue I have; if Whitmarsh had been "wetting his knickers" over Lewis Hamilton instead of Jenson Button, would the LH fans be complaining so vigorously?

As for the points still being close, they are both world champions, back to back champions at that, the points should be close, errors and retirements withstanding!

Indeed, where are the Massa fans or the Webber fans with their "crying into their beer excuse thread"?

Both drivers have had their share of less than ideal strategies, driver mistakes and general balls-ups.

I dont dislike Vettel. Schumacher.......neither here nor there this time round. And if I did dislike them I could still discuss their driving without coming down on them because of who they are.

Myown and Andrew I dont want Whitmarsh Wetting his knickers over Lewis, its sickening to watch. I just want him to behave professionally. I want Lewis to be winning again yes, but not slavered over by his team manager, just respected will do.

Your opinion on Schumacher is relevant in the context of your comment about me not being a Hamilton fan. You are accussing me of having clouded judgement and I am accussing you of the same thing when it concerns a driver you do not support.

As for Whitmarsh, he has behaved professionally, of that there is no coubt. I don't recall any examples of him not behaving professionally being presented to back-up your argument so it is difficult to see where you are coming from on this other than the stance of a disgruntled Hamilton fan. We all like to think that the drivers we support get a raw deal when things don't go their way but the simple fact is that more often or not their problems are their own doing. True some drivers are favoured over their team-mate but that certainly does not seem to be the case at McLaren this season.

No doubt you were happy with Ron Dennis though.

I think Schumacher has done really well on his come back and he's earned my respect, something I didnt feel before. So I dont really know where your going with the Schumacher thing

Whitmarsh- " This year Jenson has done some of the most spectacular drives in the history of F1 " PLLEEAASE!!

Yes Id like to see Ron back.

Bet you'd be happy if he said the same about Hamilton though and wouldn't give a rats backside about Button and would laugh at anyone who claimed that Whitmarsh was favouring Hamilton.

Yes Id like to see Ron back.

So you're happy with Hamilton being favoured 'cos that's what happened with Uncle Ron calling the shots. You'd be happy for Hamilton to be unfairly favoured but you are clearly not happy at the prospect of Button being favoured unfairly (which he isn't being). What's the word I'm looking for now?

No it didnt. The only time there was any investigation into team orders at Mclaren it was concerning favouring Alonso at Monaco. They were exonerated on the grounds that the strategy they used was neccessary at that track.

I dont want Lewis favoured(for the hundredth time!!!)

I like this bit:-
"(Which he isnt being)", nearly slipped up there didnt you...had to add the brackets :hehe::hehe:

I'm far from convinced. Both drivers are on equal terms and you're not happy.

Maybe we should check with Heikki Kovalainen about team orders and which driver got the updates and new parts first.

No near slip up at all. Just flagging up a bit of potential hypocrisy.

I dont really think there is favourtism at Mclaren for either driver. Arguably that is the teams problem since such an approach makes it harder IMO to win championships.

With regards to this year I think where Lewis has had problems perhaps it is impossible for the team to give him all the support he needed to deal with this AND maintain an equality of support for both drivers.

It really would make no sense for Whitmarsh to alienate Lewis within McLaren so I dont think he deliberately set out to do this at any stage. Perhaps though at times Lewis has felt alienated (thats the impression I have got reading some of his body language and interactions with the team) but really I am just guessing OR it might be that Lewis has just felt alienated by life in general. It has been a difficult year for him.

Since this is the official Hamilton support thread I would make the comment that up against two other great drivers in Vettel and Alonso it makes Hamiltons future chances that much difficult if he is in a slightly slower car in a team, where he not given preferential treatment, and up against a team mate of the calibre of Jenson Button. But then as Racechick herself commented to me awhile back perhaps the extra challenge of all these circumstances makes success more sweeter when it is acheived.

So you've changed your stance, from McLaren dont favour drivers, to they do favour drivers, to the point of giving one poorer equipment :yikes: Thats quiet a turnaround. So you can accept Lewis having favoured parts and strategy( which he didnt). Yet you can't accept a team manager unable to hide his preference for one driver. Very strange.

McLaren dont give preferential equipment to one driver over the other. I'll tell you what Mclaren do. They try their utmost to provide upgrades for both drivers, if they cant the upgrade goes to the driver leading the championship at the time. Lewis knows that. Jenson knows that(they both confirmed it and are happy with it) and no doubt Heikki new that.

My issuue isnt that Jenson is getting better parts. He isnt. My issue is Whitmarsh.
