I hope they keep the green too. I felt the grid was lacking in colour following the demise of teams like Jaguar, Arrows and Jordan. Fernandes' team helped bring some of that back. Hopefully it'll get retained.

totally wrong for the team to retain the green and yellow colours.

Those colours should be used by the "lotus" team. id be happy to see them race in orange though, the arrows cars that raced in that colour looked good.

Lotus never had any exclusive right to british racing green. Lotus has no more claim to it than any other British team. Green means Britain, just as red means Italy and silver means Germany. It's for any british team, in series where colours were tied to countries, which F1 is not.

Tell Ferrari they don't have a claim to Red :hehe:

Technically Germanies colour wasn't silver I think it was white or black and white. They became famous for silver when Merc stripped off the paint to save weight leaving bare metal skin.

Why not? Lotus [Renault] will presumably be Black/Gold again next year, which is equally recognized as a "Lotus" livery.

Spyker brought the orange back briefly in '07...hardly got any TV coverage though..... :hehe:

Why shouldn't Caterham keep the Green and Yellow? The only car that they produce is the Caterham 7, which is rebadged a Lotus 7 (Lotus decided that it did not want to make that chassis anymore and a car dealer called Caterham who was selling them at the time decided there was some money to be made in it)

IMHO the most famous 7 is the one from the TV show "The Prisoner" in the late 1960's which was Green and Yellow and bright red interior.

Rubbish. It's only a paint job.

So what colour is Caterham gonna be in 2012? They certainly can keep the scheme they have if they want. Or will the colour be sponsor driven? You know, like when the Williams' were painted to resemble a giant pack of Veltins.

I believe they are keeping the Green, according to something i heard on the BBC coverage at some point during the Abu Dhabi GP weekend coverage (can't remember exactly who said it or when though sorry). Same goes for Lotus/Renault.
