But not in Formula 1... Remember what happened to Nannini?

Geez he came back to Indy with no legs wouldn't matter if it was F1, no legs is an awesome feet. :)

I'm not talking about Zanardi...

You said not to F1 in regards to Zinardi you directly posted after Jabber who brought him up, I said it didn't matter he wasn't in F1, you said you weren't talking about him

Which has lead to... Who are you talking about?

A Polish F1 blogger discusses Kubica's return, and offers a conspiracy theory that certain parties are spreading rumours that his recovery is lagging in order to improve the security of other F1 drivers' positions.

To further cloud the issue, today's print issue of la Gazzetta dello Sport reports Kubica is scheduled for still another wrist surgery.

The only thing that's certain -- and the Polish blogger speaks to this point -- is that the one person who could clear up this confusion -- Kubica himself -- isn't being very forthcoming.

I can't believe you just did that. :hehe:

I said early on that I doubted he's ever come back to the sport, the guy is lucky to be alive and anything more than that is a win for him personally, and a phenomenal success for modern medicine. What I don't want to see if the groans and disappointments if he doesn't come back to the sport because undoubtedly some will see that as some kind of failure, where IMO it's been nothing but a success.

Regardless of the outcome, he's won.

Well said.

Another aspect that we haven't considered is if Kubica wants to come back. He has endured a life changing accident and may not want to step back into a racing car.

When great sportmans are stricken from their peak they go into a depressed mental state. I think if Kubica is upbeat and happy about his outlook in life then I don;t care if he doesnt want to return. Thats the support that all his fans should be giving him.

He can have forearms like Popeye the Sailor but if his fingers don't work, he still can't grip the steering wheel properly.

Eric Boullier is wringing his hands over Kubica's lack of communication with the team.

This is beginning to sound as if Kubica knows the hidden truth of his condition but is unwilling to face it.

I still find it hard to believe why Renault is wasting their time after knowing the extent of Kube's injuries right after his crash. WTF, he's not the only talent there is...if the chance of full recovery is minimal look elsewhere you m**ons!!

In a subscriber's article at Autosport dot Com, they are speculating Kubica might not be returning with Rinnow.

The reason being Rinnow-cum-Lotus already are on the back foot for losing the services of their #1 driver so near to the start of the 2011 season. And it now is known Kubica is not likely to be race-ready until the latter half of the 2012 season, perhaps the last few races. Boullier has said they are "morally" committed to Kubica but there is a flood of talented new prospects available for 2012. It is a "buyer's market" and Rinnow haven't the luxury of dithering until 2013 waiting for Kubica.

Kubica's contract with Rinnow expires this December. What if he and Boullier already have agreed it will not be renewed but that neither will speak of it, leaving that honour to Kubica's new team.

It generally is believed Kubica temporarily has left his home in Monaco and is living in Capezzano Pianore, where he can receive full-time treatment from Dott. Riccardo Ceccarelli in his Formula Medicine clinic. Capezzano Pianore is about two hours driving from Maranello via the A15, but less than an hour by helicopter across the Apennines. Just an hour or two to F1 simulators, Fiorano, and the constructor's factory. Felipe Massa's contract with Scuderia Ferrari expires at the end of the 2012 season, and Robert Kubica undoubtedly will be quite keen on rejoining with that team which provides him the best opportunity to return to his old form.

Coincidence? We shall see.
