Giancarlo Fisichella as been in a Championship winning team in Renault for the past few seasons and at age 34 nearly 35 what is his personal goals in going to a team thats fighting for one or two points at best, wins or podiums wouldnt even be considered by the team .

Sure every driver wants to race at the highest level possible thats a given but also drivers must want satisfaction in what they are doing. Im not sure Fisi or even Ralf would get any satisfaction in racing at the rear end of the grid. Look at Jenson Button he has publicly said he has no desire to keep racing in the mid field and would probably rather quit F1 than continue to do that. Which i agree with racers are racers, they want to win they want to race. Even if that means changing racing series and Formula.

I think its time for Giancarlo to concentrate on his GP2 team and even look at racing in other series in which he can atleast compete and move forward in. Force India should be looking and opening up their cockpits to the young blokes wanting to get a start to their F1 career in a hope of one day moving up the grid if they are proven good enough!

Nothing wrong with your rant. Just maybe put yourself in his shoes: he's got the F1 virus and doesn't want to quit yet. He hasn't been driving for such a backmarker yet, so maybe he won't be as turned off as JB at least for the first year. Plus he probably realizes that this would be his last hurray, so he'll enjoy it.

I think they are going to try and become what Redbull tried to originally do by having a Dad/solid set of hands in one car with a Son/hot headed talented kid in the other car.

if they know they are at the bottom of the grid and that they have a past of maturing young drivers well then I am sure Flavio, Ron, Etc would like to see there young drivers go to them before going to a works team.

Maybe Force India will become an extended part of Fisi's race team managememnt

fisi is one of the drivers that i wnat out of f1 asap. i think he is a waste of space now. he has had his chance in the renault and didn't take it. teams like force india should be breeding grounds for new dirvers where they can develop and move to a top team and not filled with old has-been's that are past there sell by date.

I think Force India is hoping to get some knowledgable developement input from Fisi the first year then once they get some from him, or findout he has none of those skill's, he will be gone. I'm not sure how of how long his contract is for but I think it will only last one season maybe two if he's lucky.
