Have you not seen The Shawsahnk redemption or The Bucket List? Morgan freeman at his finest and 2 of the best films I've ever seen.

And you missed out Steve Buscemi and John Travolta and Nicholas Cage - maybe not the up there with the true acting greats but they appear in such a diversity of roles. I would place these much higher than Tom Hanks! I would put Steven Segal with his clip on pony tail, beer belly, razor sharp hands and cheesy early 90's karartay moves higher up on a list of good actors than Tom hanks!

If he is in a film I'll not watch it even if it is the best film ever that I would enjoy like no other film I've ever seen 'cos I can't stand that wooden twonk, except Turner and Hooch and that's 'cos the dog's cool.

Perhaps detailing your own list would be a step forward, rather then spending all the time dissecting my one to fit other people lol

John Travolta...hmmm, only Grease and Pulp Fiction really, Freeman is very one dimensional, he also hasnt been in that many hit films at all.

There already is one if I recall so you can peruse my list at you leisure.

Face/Off, Get Shorty, Be Cool to name 3 excellent films with Travolta in the lead role. Grease is one of those films that I find painful to watch (probably mental scarring from when I was in primary schol and someone would always take in Grease on the last day before summer and Christmas for 7 years) but Pulp Fiction is great.

Morgan Freeman one dimensional? He's one of the finest actors around! So what if he hasn't been in too many hit films? A film doesn't have to win awards to be good.

"Film doesnt have to be a hit to be good"

We arent talking about good andrew, we are talking about the best!

Face/Off is a run of the mill hollywood action movie. Not a legacy. Some of the actors i have like Clint Eastwood were in films like Any which way but loose, a funny film, but a classic, no. Hes been in lots of classic films is why hes there. As have all the others. Im researching this all just for the sake of it on wikipedia and Morgan Freemans Great film list is astoundingly low. Hes in hardly anything worth recalling in 20 years time. Same with many others youve said like Gene Hackman, and greats like Sean Connery, only James Bonds and Hunt for Red October are classic films. You might say Eastwood is one dimensional, and id partially agree, but then you see the plethora of films he co and outright directed like, Play Misty for me, or Unforgiven, or Gran Torino, or Million Dollar Baby and its just magic, what a terrific actor he is. All of which he also starred in.

99 Percent of actors especially in worldwide films are good, a bad film is almost always the product of storyline and directing, they dont put out films with bad actors, as such, recollecting our favourite good actors would take years wouldnt it? Theres loads.

So who are your favourites?

And I would count Harrison Ford in the other 1 percent.

ha, theres a part on family guy that mock him with him just walking down the street asking people what they done with his family

Travolta better than Hanks? You have got to be kidding me. Travolta would be nothing without Pulp Fiction.

Hanks, on the other hand... Hamilonso pretty much covered that one.

The only actor (apart from Alec Guiness who is the greatest actor of all time) whose career didn't go down the cludgy after Star Wars. I quite like Harrison Ford but maybe that's more to do with me liking the Indiana Jones and the original 3 Star Wars films.
