Second race in a row that I've missed.

It seems like it was a real positive race for both Red Bull, STR and Ricciardo - so all in all really positive for me. Ricciardo is urging the team to try and finish ahead of both Virgins at the next race - something I thought was impossible until Ricciardo joined the team.

I think Buemi has now been definitely outqualified and out-raced by Alguersuari - so lets see the next couple of results. Qualifying in my opinion is the first thing a driver needs to get right - I only want good qualifiers in my team - it is the biggest key to a successful race weekend, followed by starts - something which have been an issue for the number 2 car this year.

It also sounds like a positive result for Webber, Hamilton, and Massa - and positive for Alonso to almost catch Button. Overall - the results are astoundingly positive.

Just a shame I'll never see it for myself.

I heard his words very clearly live. I still have the race recorded and listened again. Quite clear. He does have a bad attitude. Cant argue with that. Its funny hearing him whine all the time then wearing those earrings(too much time with george michael). Who gives a f%ck about you liking F1 or not.

I know about Liuzzi's result - but given the conditions and results since, it was a one-off. The same thing happened last year as well, when Chandhok's two 14th place finishes in Australia and Monaco (when his team mate and both Virgins retired, and placing ahead of Trulli, despite the fact that both Chandhok and Trulli collided near the end.) and Senna's similar result in Korea (when both Virgins retired), meant that HRT's 3 x 14th places to Virgin's 2 x 14th place finishes was enough for HRT to finish second last.

Also Timo Glock finished last in the championship out of the drivers to contest all races, and yet, Di Grassi was replaced - even though he technically beat his team mate. And interestingly, Chandhok who only competed in half the races, finished ahead of his team mate(s) and both Virgins at the final end of year standings.

Just thought it was interesting statistic to ramble on about.

Turkey 2010, possible rain, Mr Schumi wasn't really the nicest replying back to his engineer during the parade lap being told the threat of rain.

All drivers get frustrated at all point of the race. It doesn't mean a damn thing.

Here's my feelings on the events of Sunday afternoon in South Korea!

Sebastian Vettel sealed his tenth win of the season and sealed the constructors title for Red Bull with three races remaining on the calendar. Lewis Hamilton who started from pole could only hold off Vettel for half a lap before the German made his move for the lead into turn four. Hamilton managed to hold onto second place despite being under immense pressure from Mark Webber who finished four tenths behind Hamilton with Jenson Button two seconds behind and Fernando Alonso a further second behind. Felipe Massa rounds out the top six, 25 seconds off the winners time!

Despite former Renault team principle and cheating barsteward, Flavio Briatore’s assertion that Vettel is not the best driver in F1; Vettel was the class of the field today, making the move on Hamilton stick then calmly managed the race from the front setting a lap time that was eight tenths faster than anyone else. Yes the car helps but it takes a immensely talented driver to get that much more out of a car than his team mate. Hamilton did well to finish second with a wildly understeering car, the Briton claiming that he was using full-lock on his steering through most corners despite having the maximum amount of wing angle on the front! I have to say I really enjoyed the battle between Hamilton and Webber, hard but fair racing between the two! Jenson Button was the big loser dropping from third on the grid to sixth place by turn five as Felipe Massa forced the Briton wide. Button has similar understeer problems to Hamilton so fourth was the best he could manage today in South Korea The Briton did have an interesting battle with Nico Rosberg coming out of the pits, both drivers side by side, Rosberg narrowly beating Button to the pit limiter line then outbraked himself allow Button to retake the position but as a result, the German had the benefit of DRS in the run down to turn three and duly took the place back. But Rosberg’s lead over Button was shortlived as Button took the position back exactly one lap later.

Lap 17 produced a safety car period because Renault’s Vitaly Petrov’s ploughed into the side Michael Schumacher’s Mercedes going into turn 3 while attempting to overtake Fernando Alonso; the Spaniard was lucky to not be collected by the Russian after hitting Schumacher! The end result; both Petrov and Schumacher out of the race, Schumacher with a rear puncture and broken rear wing while Petrov made it back to the pits but retired with a broken steering arm! The race restarted on lap 20; Vettel bolted leaving Hamilton in his wake, Button was challenging Webber for third but couldn’t use his super-soft tyres to get past the Australian, so no change at the front!

Toro Rosso’s Jaime Alguersuari took seventh place going into turn 3 on the very final lap after chasing Nico Rosberg for a dozen laps while the Spaniard’s Toro Rosso team mate Sebastien Buemi finished ninth, making the Mercedes of Rosberg the meat in a Toro Rosso sandwich. Paul di Resta claimed the final point for tenth place, dropping a couple as places in the last dozen laps.

A much improved performance from Lewis Hamilton, scoring more points than his team mate Button in half a dozen races. The season is over as far as championships are concerned but we have three races remaining to decide who will be best of the rest. Only 26 points covers second through fifth place, Jenson Button still in the box seat followed by Alonso, Webber and Hamilton respectively! Next we are off to India in two weeks time, hopefully they have managed to complete the circuit, it looked like a lot to do when we last saw the progress a couple of months back!

Whitmarsh is blaming low downforce for the McLaren's losing to vetTEL at Korea. Except the McLaren's lumps are up by at least 25 bhp. And the faster McLaren's trap speed was less than 4 kph faster than the slowest Red Bull. Which begs the question, if they were so short on downforce, whenceforth came all that drag?

But that's not the case, something that was said on the BBC race commentary, the teams have to choose their gear ratios before the season starts, this is why there has been so much talk of gearing that was too short, teams would not deliberately sabotage their own cars with short ratios if they had the freedom to change them during the race weekend!

But that's not the case, something that was said on the BBC race commentary, the teams have to choose their gear ratios before the season starts, this is why there has been so much talk of gearing that was too short, teams would not deliberately sabotage their own cars with short ratios if they had the freedom to change them during the race weekend!

The impression I got from that was the teams have to have a group of gear ratio "presets" to use throughout the season - not pick one gear ratio set for the whole season.

Anyway, what speed trap stats are we looking at? These?
