A world champion as a strong number 2? I think he has shown he is far from just a strong number 2 this year.

So RC your theory is MW is favouring Button. But Lewis gets equal equipment and opportunity in races. My question to that is. So what? Does Lewis need to be babied to win races is that what you're saying? Can he go to Redbull and be second fiddle in the teams eyes to Vettel? Won't he have the same issue you claim is making him drive bad at McLaren? What of Mercedes? Once they realize Hamilton ist nicht eine duetsch?

There is more to Lewis' somber mood than just MW and JB relationship. Which a strong driver would not care about, I can't see Kimi caring only primadonnas like Alonso!

He's not a lewis, Alonso or vettel; but he's not afraid to run with them. if they hit problems he's there, he's solid and he can challenge for championships. So yes, he probably is more than a number two. The current regs suit him hugely but he struggles when things dont suit him and is less adept at driving round them
Until I see unequivical proof that lewis isnt getting the same opportunities as Button I will continue to believe he is. I think he is. And lewis getting screwed in the last two out of three qualies, having an inexplicably slow car at Suzuka, being on the wrong tyres, under fuelled, kept out when his tyres are stuffed, given dodgey strategies etc, well its racing , I guess these things happen.

He's not like Alonso, he cares passionately about how he's peceived. And you're right, he shouldnt. he shopuld stick the preverbial two fingers up at them all and ignore it all. Like senna, like Schumacher. But he's not them. And in the meantime knowing his team manager doesnt much like him, it plays on his mind and has now reached crisis point.

Buttons had team errors too this season that have cost him, so were they trying to give Lew a little favour there? I mean telling him to box in Q2 at Spa was just stupid, even he questioned it but did as his engineer said.
From a Button fans point of view they might ask why was Button so slow in Qualifying this race? Is something amiss to have such a gap considering his pace all weekend last race? Oh but to a Lewis fan that is how it should be, Jenson is just a number two quality and therefore naturally is meant to be 3 tenths slower than Lewis all the time.
It's a sad state of affairs when fans become so cynical because of their one eyed support for a driver makes them see from only one perspective. I think if you all just respected Jenson a bit more then when he beats Lewis you wouldn't look to such ulterior motives.

Its not the beating of Lewis :banghead: Ive said several times how impressed Ive been with jenson this season and I have no problem with jenson All Ive said is that lewis is ultimately faster. Does that mean he will always win? No, as has been proven this season. You dont see it, so im going to stop here goes its going nowhere.

McLaren boss Martin Whitmarsh has revealed that Lewis Hamilton lost about 10 points of downforce early in the Korean Grand Prix because of an unidentified problem.

The British driver has started from pole position but was overtaken early on by Red Bull rival Sebastian Vettel, who went on to open a gap that allowed him to enjoy a quiet race from the front.

Vettel won the event by 12 seconds over Hamilton, who had to do his best to keep Mark Webber at bay to maintain second place.

Whitmarsh, whose team had looked as favourite for victory since Friday, said Hamilton was hit by a loss of downforce that cost him valuable time during the race.

"We had a reasonable launch, we had a shocking first lap and after that we appear to have lost some front downforce," explained Whitmarsh. "Whether that is damage or debris or something else caught in the front wing, so Lewis lost about 10 points of downforce, which meant it was a bit of a handful.

"In those circumstances we were not fast enough today but the stand out drive has to be Lewis because I think who would have said with 30 laps to go he had a car behind him that was at that point of the race quicker, he had a powerful DRS and Lewis should take a lot of satisfaction from this weekend.

"To take pole was good and given the circumstances in the race, that was a truly fantastic race from him. So congratulations to Red Bull but Lewis did an outstanding job and made what was a fairly gripping race for us, he will not be satisfied by not being first but professionally he should be satisfied with the job he did this weekend."

First time in a while Lewis has been the better driver and MW makes a points of saying so,like he does when Jenson is the better driver.

This is just a ps, that i forgot to say. I didnt say all those things were done on purpose to lewis I said they were just racing. But there are an awful lot. You can see how it might be perceived, especially if your team leader isnt keen on you.
You asked why jens was slower at quali today, well he usually is when Lewis gets a normal run.
I think thats it now.

Well Webber's staying on at RBR and Mercedes have yet to prove any sign of winning form or long-term commitment.

So Lewis aint going anywhere for the time being. By which time, he may not by sulking miserably around the paddock, and everything's right as rain again!

At least he looked like his old self in the car again today. That's an improvement for a start.

There wont be any move til 2013 anyway because he's still in contract. By then Webber may not be signed up and it will be clear how mercedes are doing.
Yes he drove well today, all weekend. But he ain't happy.

Do you think it possible there is/was contract tampering and Lewis has secretly committed to another team after 2012, perhaps Redbull when Webbers contract expires.

And who knows what the form book will be like in 2013? Merc may have a crap 2012 and leave. RBR may not be the cream of the crop anymore. There's no way I'm even going to think about what Lewis' plans are until we see how next season goes.

Corriere dello sport are reporting that Hamilton's dour disposition might be related to his recent conversion to the Church of Scientology.

He could do without that rubbish. :spin::headshake: Tom Cruise is in that.
